He was from NYC. Chicago didn’t produce him

The 1893 Columbian Exposition was kind of a big deal. Gave America stuff like the Pledge of Allegiance, the dishwasher, the brownie, and the Ferris Wheel. A guy named Hershey also bought equipment at the fair so he could make chocolate.
UChicago's football team introduced things like varsity letters, jersey numbers, and the linebacker position. They also produced the first Heisman Trophy winner. Just little things like that.

Forgetting the original culture or entertainment stuff for a minute, on this...
You serious, Clark? You ever checked how many F500 companies were founded and/or located in Chicago?
Chicago Board of Trade? Chicago Mercantile Exchange?
The most influential school of economic thought in modern America?
That's just a start.

Chicago produced Hugh Hefner an American Treasure. Shame on you idiots.

I start a Chicago troll thread about once a year.
I don’t know; it’s just the way I am.

Fair enough...I misread. Oak brook was their original HQ...not the first restaurant...

Blues music
They stole that from Mississippi. Had it not been for Mississippi blacks moving up there in droves in the early part of the twentieth century in hopes of finding a promise land, only to be introduced to the projects, they would have NO blues to call their own.
