I'm not reading this whole thread, but modern skyscraper architecture started in Chicago and is now worldwide. So that's a pretty major contribution to global culture.

You give Nashville and NOLA props but NOT Chicago? Lord.

Nashville is more akin to Orlando from a cultural standpoint. It's a one-trick pony that has been over-commercialized in the past 10 years. NOLA has a unique setting, but let's not pretend its economic punching-power is not as strong as Providence, Rhode Island, and a shade higher than Louisville, Kentucky.

Technically speaking, the triangle of death in the middle east is a cultural icon.

The OP completely misses the mark here. Chicago is great.
