I knew a guy that invested in pet crematoriums. He told me that even if you pay extra for "my dog" you are getting plenty of other dogs.

I guess your other option is to bury the dog on your property. I was once told that my grandfather buried a favorite dog in a nice place when I was about 5. When I was about 25, my dad told me it was far more likely the dog was chunked into a dumpster down at the office. I had a good laugh knowing my grandfather. He was a good dude.

While at our vet late one day last week (I was sitting in my Jeep) a truck pulled up by the back door. The man took several small boxes into the office. He then started hauling out black trash bags of what I am assuming were dead animals. Some was big and some was small.
This was on a Friday and he brought out a lot of them. On the last trip he had an envelope. I kept thinking I hope he leaves before my wife came out.

They hand you a box with a dead dog in it, or they charge you more money to cremate them, or even more money to cremate them and give you some random ashes, or even more money to give you mostly your dogs ashes.

Having a dog put down by a vet can be a horrible money grabbing experience.

Oh, the horror. Ole Biscuit doesn’t always get his own burning, and his ashes are commingled with a shih Tzu.

America’s insistence upon acting like pets are people is hilarious.

Depends on how nice their fur is. Fluffy could adorn a throw pillow.

This probably sounded funnier in your head. But that would indicate that you’re an adolescent- mentally or in age.

Except the vet isn’t the one setting the prices for how you get your ashes back or the options for it.

We charge for the euthanasia service then cremation service handles pretty much everything else.

If you’re like the previous owners of my house, you dig a grave in the backyard, drop a large piece of marble on it, then add a gravestone.

Then you oddly show up a few months after selling the house to visit the gravesite.

I know we will cremate ours and spread some ashes in the lake and bury the rest in our backyard. Our 13 year old lab (my wife's first dog ever) is getting close to the end. We got her on our 3rd wedding anniversary. My wife is already a wreck.

They haunt the soulless vet's dreams forever.
