That's bullshite. They should have given you your property back. I'd have been PO'd, too. You know someone probably took it home with them....

yeah. it was a real nice kershaw my wife gave to me for christmas.

it was the NCAA tournament and i had gone to a few games already with it in my pocket and there was no security. i show up to the final game and they have security everywhere. i was like WTF. i took a bus here, i can't take it back. they said leave the premises right now or surrender it.

Next you’re going to tel me you don’t need basic math skills because you’re always carrying a calculator. What an idiot.

How basic are we talking about? I use math a hell of a lot more than I've ever needed a pocket knife, and my phone has worked great as a flashlight anytime I've needed one.

I usually carry a pocket knife unless I am flying....but this shite made me roll my eyes.

When I started flying routinely for work it was too much of a hassle to carry a knife. They have loosened the restriction but outside of being out on a boat, there has never been a time where I needed a pocket knife and did not have access to a regular knife/scissors/leatherman etc.

Old Timer 3 blade knife here. I only carry it when I know I'll need it like when going fishing or going out on a carpentry job where a sharp pencil is a must.

When I was younger, I carried a knife all the time but I'm not retired and don't need it near as often.

Get one, I picked mine up at Mark's Outdoors near Birmingham on a whim. Mine's the shortly-produced Sebenza 25.

Yup. It happened. But any kind of reaction on my part is unwarranted in our over-policed climate. So it is what it is. Sucks.

it was the NCAA tournament

F the NCAA. I was working a regional at the AAC in Dallas. They had free food for the media, but had not opened to serve before the 11:30 am game. I went to the concession stand and grabbed a little pan pizza and a 32 oz. diet coke and went to my seat at the scorer's table. During the first timeout, a security guy came and told me I couldn't have the 32 oz. Coke cup at that table. Dasani was an NCAA corporate sponser, their cups were in the media lounge, and that's the only ones we could have at that table. They gave me three 12 oz. Dasani cups, and I had to pour my drink into them. I'd have had the free cup over the one I paid $3.00 for if they'd opened the lounge earlier.

I feel naked if I leave the house without mine.

Granted, I use mine daily and multiple times a day. I grew up carrying one and it is just ingrained in me now to always have one. I use mine for everything; From cutting food, opening packages, impromptu garden pruning, etc..

I'm guessing you don't use your Sig every day, either- but I'm glad you carry it.

If I'm not using my Leatherman Sideclip myself, someone is asking if they can use it for a second...

They are handy and will get you out of a bind.

Hell- let's all just do a pocket dump and make this thread immortal.

I guess I'm just at odds with those who don't carry a knife because they think its somehow "beneath them".

Weird thing to get bothered by but whatever. I always preferred carrying on, even have holes worn in my jeans from where they would sit, but once you have to leave it on the counter 5 days out of the week, you start to forget to put it in there the other 2.
