Most of the foods I don't eat now are foods that I think are delicious like fried chicken

As much as I love fried chicken it doesn't agree with my stomach

Fast food of any kind. Quit in January 2024. Wish I hadn’t waited until my 40’s.

I confess to still missing a McDonald’s cheeseburger once in a while.

Escargot and raw oysters. Absolutely hate them.

I don’t mind a crunchy pickle on the side, but I hate the little soggy ones that they typically put on hamburgers. Keep it and the juice off my burger.

Love them.

Brussel sprouts. I can do without them but I will eat them if I dine at someone's house.

Green olives or any olives for that matter. They actually make me gag.

Short of eating chicken tendies and fries every meal, I have a hard time seeing how one can make it thru life without eating peppers and onions in some capacity.

I wonder what make different people have aversions to different foods.

Obviously this doesn't apply to all foods, but some foods, like cilantro, involve a genetic component. It actually tastes different to certain people. Some people are born in a way that it tastes like "soap". I'm not one of those people and actually enjoy it.

I used to be picky according to my parents which is weird because I am down to try anything. After seeing it ITT if I had to pick a food to turn down it would be beets. Couldn’t tell you if I ever had one but doesn’t sound appetizing enough to want to try.

I have a grown arse cousin that comes to thanksgiving dinner family get together with Popeyes because she won’t eat any food there even though there’s probably about 2 dozen dishes to choose from.

I think broccoli is just awful. I've tried numerous times and it just doesn't taste good. Anyone that says they enjoy it, tricked their mind from forcefully eating it for too long. I stray away from asparagus unless there's a shite load of butter and parm on top. Also a sliced tomato is a no from me. More of a texture thing.

I’ve tried them, but absolutely don’t like:

Capers
Olives
Mushrooms

Keep that shite out of my food.

I started gagging by the time I got to the sea cucumber reference.

LOL
I travel for a living and have family in Japan. Trust me, out of those listed the sea pineapple (I confused cucumber for pineapple) is the 2nd least offensive to me with whole liver (chicken, beef) being number 1. I'm old enough to remember taking a piece of rumaki (bacon wrapped chicken livers) off of a passed tray at a reception; I mean how bad could something that is bacon wrapped then fried? and spitting it out at lightning speed. On the occasional liver and onions night at the house most of us were making our own PB&Js.
