No idea but I’m a bit concerned. Folks point out that he did well with Bama and Saban but that was with a very good runner at QB (Milroe). Kentucky didn’t have a great run game with him and most of the comments I’ve seen from their fans indicate that they are happy that he’s leaving.
Oh well. Don’t bring any of them here. They can handle their own problems. Not one dime of aid either. America First.
This is a really good topic for debate. Only reason Texas has 3 losses is because they played Ohio State to open the season. If they had just played Directional School U to open, we probably aren’t having this debate and Texas is firmly in the playoffs. IMO, if we want good regular season matchups, strength of schedule needs to be weighted heavier than overall wins for teams with weak schedules. Who has Tulane, North Texas, or BYU beat this year? Hell, who has ND beat?
Not gonna lie, I’d love it.
How is ND in over Vandy? Both teams have the same record, Vandy has a tougher SOS, and Vandys only losses are on the road. Playoff selection process is bullshite. Why can’t we just have the best 12 teams. Let the computers decide. Committee sucks.
Got mine today too. I didn’t think that I could hate the government anymore than i already do but they always somehow find a way to piss me off just a little bit more.
Right. But say a player opts out before end of the season. We all know NIL, while being tied to marketing, is really about pay for play. And if a player opts out, the marketing benefit to said company is theoretically reduced. Outside of Livvy Dunne, what player endorsement is really helping to sell product? Am I really more likely to go buy a caniac or a Ford truck because X LSU player is on a billboard or a commercial? Answer is No.
Ex: player opts out after game 10. Do organizations paying NIL have the right to not pay salary for games 11-12 + bowl? I’ve never heard this aspect of player contracts discussed. Just have the understanding that most players sign for 1 year and are free agents the next. Seems like the companies doing business would want at least some leverage.
I appreciate your post and perspective.

Respectfully, I will continue to vote “No” on any continuing or additional taxation. I am not confident in the government being a good steward of the public’s money and feel I can make better decisions with my own earnings than the city/parish can. While the library does provide some nice services, I feel those services are generally underutilized and, therefore, not a good use of taxpayer funds.

Agreed. The pre game fireworks and light shows are also stupid af. Every school has them now, so the game experience at LSU feels the same as many other schools. Nothing to make it uniquely LSU.
Fast food of any kind. Quit in January 2024. Wish I hadn’t waited until my 40’s.

I confess to still missing a McDonald’s cheeseburger once in a while.
I’ve often thought it made sense to kick Hawaii out of the union as well. What benefits do they really provide? Could still pay them rent to keep naval bases there.
No on everything. I will never vote for more taxes.

Grubb flopped at Seattle

This is true but there are tons of examples of college coaches flopping in the pro game. That doesn’t mean they aren’t great college coaches. See tGOAT, Saban. Or one of the other greats, Spurrier.
Doesn’t have to be Grubb. Only point is I don’t think we should limit ourselves to established head coaches. Schools like UGA, tOSU, and Oregon haven’t. Not sure why LSU thinks they are tiers above those jobs because they’re not.
For Example, Grubb at Alabama. Hire him and you get the added benefit of knee capping a rival. Deboer looked pretty average without him last year and this year they are rolling. No idea if he wants to be a HBC, but there are plenty of great coaches out there that had no Head coaching experience before they got shots at their current schools. Those include Kirby, Day, and Lanning, all of who anyone on this board would be elated with. No guarantee an established HBC is going to produce either. Look at Kelly.

Honorable mention:
Ryan Grubb

Don’t think we should be ruling out great coordinators
Current HBC’s that were promoted from assistant positions:

1. Kirby
2. Ryan Day
3. Dan Lanning

But somehow LSU considers itself too good to take a chance on an assistant because they hired Mike Archer in 1987.
Good, but I’d prefer Zero admissions and Zero foreign aid. We are$37T in debt and broke.
I wanted to drop in and Thank you all for this thread. I’m a small time holder at only 120 shares but I’ve been buying since approximately $39 and it’s only because of you guys. Need to get a better understanding of options before I go in like you big money Baws.
I personally think you’re on the right track, but I’d include almost all of our elected officials and the ruling elites + deep state amongst our greatest threats.
