Sorry if this doesn't qualify as anxiety, but my job requires me to drive a tremendous amount. I got to where I wanted to whip someone's arse every few minutes, or get my arse whipped. I recently put a dash cam in my truck and it has majorly chilled me out.

Sorry to hear it's an issue for you but as you say everyone deals with it to some degree.

Intense exercise certainly helps me. During the day I try to just deal with it, but if I'm having a problem sleeping at night I've used a low dose of clonazepam and/or ambien ER. I only take something if I really can't sleep. I sometimes have to take both.

There are also all sorts of OTC supplements that claim to help with calming anxiety. I've taken some of those at various times and can't truly tell you whether they make a difference consistently.

Good luck.

In the past two years or so, smoking has made me anxious. I might take a puff or two if I've got a good buzz on, but if I do it sober now, my heart rate goes through the roof and I go in to a hypochondriatic anxiety spiral. Feels bad, man.

My wife has terrible anxiety and panic attacks. The only thing that helps is xanax, and not always that. She's tried all that other crap, it doesn't work for her. Her shrink is at a loss.

This could be panic disorder. Does it come out of the blue?Paxil helped me. Didnt have to take it for long either. It was a true chemical imbalance of sorts that needed medication. I havent had an attack in years.

I take medication but I also try when home to delve into one of my hobbies. Also, I have found NOT following news and such seems to help, I try to watch television for comedy or documentaries. FWIW I know TV board but if you haven't watched it History channel has a great show on Project Blue Book.

Back to anxiety, had the stuff most of my life, much of it is personality type and inherited to some degree. It sucks

THC produces anxiety in many, including myself. I tried it for sleep and sleep really good for a few hours but wake up panicked and having very strefful thoughts. My experiment with edibles for sleep is over. I have used 5HTP which works somehwat if you stay on it, but it can make you lethargic.

KRATOM works really really really good but can be addictive and will make you constipated like opiates.

Have to rewire your mind. It's not the answer people want to hear but its primarily behavioral.

Hard to be anxious after a good 5-10 mile run in the morning or evening. I'd try exercise and diet first, then medication after that if I didn't get the results I wanted.

acupuncture 100% resolves my anxiety. Took about 7 months, Asian lady kept saying “like melting iceberg, you no get anxiety overnight, you no fix overnight”. Sure as shite it’s gone. I might have one night a week where the next days activities keep me up later than normal. But that overwhelming tight chest brain 1000mph worrying about dumb shite stuff is 100% gone.

Eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and don’t drink.

Bought some edibles last weekend and it does nothing for me except making me sleepy and a bit forgetful.

St. John's Wort worked for me. Protect yourself from the sun though.

Lawd, she took that and it caused terrible side effects. I don't remember what, they have all either not worked at all or had intolerable side effects. The only thing she can take is a low dose of wellbutrin, but only a low dose. Increasing it makes the anxiety worse.

It's been a struggle, you might say. Annnd, her shrink is retiring, so we have to find one who is compatible and takes her insurance. Fun fun.

Alcohol just compounds my anxiety, which I really don't experience very often. At least anxiety that affects my life in any appreciable way.

Taking my dog out on a long, solo hike clears my mind better than anything else does. Turning off the TV and cracking open a book helps as well.

I literally thought I was the only one this ever happened to. This was the reason I quit about 2 years ago, I couldn't even enjoy it anymore, haven't touched it since.
