Edibles suck. Never understood the love for them on the internet.

I took a few classes on pharmacodynamics, pharmacokenitics, neuropharmacology, etc while at LSU. One professor was notorious for his pharmacokenitics lecture on ROA (route of administration) where he would eventually get to the subject of edibles. His take was that eating marijuana was an awful waste of a perfectly good drug

ETA: This was an Oweo tier post, and I will see myself out.

Jesus dude, same. Unfortunately, my solution to this is to have a drink. Scares the shite out of me that it works.
I feel you Hemp. But hey man you dont want to hear this from me cause I know you are an adult and have been through your thing, but that’s a slippery slope. If you can contain yourself to just a couple drinks to cope is one thing, but being hungover each day will keep you miserable. But hey if you can have 2 cocktails for recovery and be better the next day than you would have the current day (if that makes sense), more power to you.

I wish you the absolute best. Anxiety got rough out of nowhere for me around 22 and has stuck with me for 6 years. I control it now with exercise and not drinking liquor heavily, but it really is something that is hereditary. The people who dont deal with it that tell us we are bitches can go frick themselves for not only being lucky, but for being arrogant. Hang in there bud.

I have 37-plus months of sobriety and 11 months smoke-free

That's awesome. Congrats. If prayer is working, have you looked into the benefits of positive self-talk? It's been one of the biggest beneficiaries for my sobriety and is a lot like prayer as far as the application.

Loosely scientific idea here, but I think our species has a certain amount of stress response that has evolutionarily proven beneficial for survival (getting more alert in the dark, etc). Modern society has made life so easy for us these preloaded systems aren’t being used for practical applications.

Yeah, gotta disagree with this point, though I get where you're coming from. I think it's the opposite; there is so much information being fed to us at incredible rates that we feel overwhelmed. If it's not the fast-paced world news, it's trying to keep up with Jones' on social media. We aren't wired to handle it.

I have bad anxiety. Biggest triggers were conference calls for work and driving. I would get nausea of the head...almost like an out-of-body experience...heart racing, sweating, believing that one wrong sentence in a conference call or one wrong move on the roadway and my entire life would come collapsing down.

I've been on a couple of meds but have been on a low dose of Lexapro for years and it's pretty much nipped it all in the bud. Also smoke weed which has helped me just accept things for what they are, rather than sweating the small shite.

Anxiety fricking sucks. If you're dealing with it and are scared to talk to your doctor, just get over yourself and admit you're dealing with unpleasant feelings. He or she won't think less of you (they're probably on anti-anxiety meds themselves).
