I lived in Japan for six years. All shoes are removed before entering the house. Ours are sprayed and hung on shoe trees. Besides work, I officiate football and baseball. All those shoes come out of the equipment bag, get sprayed and hung to dry. Inside the house, we have slippers for the house only.

We don’t have much of a problem. Sometimes, however, I’ll spray the insides with Lysol

I try not to step in dog or cow shite. Usually do well, but Iwas picking peppers yesterday and stepped in a nice dog pile.

I agree with Sally, but I have no problem with smelly shoes. My tennis shoes are at least 12 years old. I see other men with these perfectly clean shoes on and fret over getting them scruffed. I mean, I actually work in the yard, weedeat, mow, rake, etc. and have never worried about a tennis shoe appearance in my life. but my sunday-go-to-meeting-shoes are kept nice.

Never had an issue in our family.
Might have to do with the 60 pair of shoes laying around.

Wash feet better in the shower and wear clean socks.
