Right? The kid saved me some heartache in the long run though. I wish him the best

She works, but she doesn’t pay debts obviously. It goes up about 1k a month and whenever she causes problems I get her half of the private school tuition and additional expenses added to the arrears.

I don't understand

They have this thing called wage garnishment

A garnishment order is in place, but the money never makes it my way. The DA called the employer to release funds and they complied, but unless he calls, they don’t abide. There is an active warrant in the state of Louisiana, but I asked that they not extend it to Texas where she lives. I don’t want to make things any worse than they are.

And she can go to jail too. Amazingly, defaulting on child support is the only civil offense one can be imprisoned for.

I would file suit against the company for unpaid support

I am 100% serious

I have a buddy who pays about $1300 for 1 kid, but he doesn’t have any custody.

She clearly doesn't give two fricks about you or the kid if she's not paying support. You should ask that they extend it. Real talk.

My friend doesn't have custody but pays for the kids to go to private school and childcare at the school. Plus expenses such as sports and gymnastics then she always wants more for uniforms, clothes, etc. Sometimes she signs up kids without him knowing then calls him wanting more money or threatens to get the lawyers involved

How much he makes?
How much she makes?

I’m more concerned that she just leave us alone. She’s done enough damage to me and my daughter. Money isn’t that important, tbh.

Woman using kids as a weapon against the father? Shocking

Basically the same for me.

50/50 Custody, kept the house, no alimony, no child support.

Divorce cost me $650 for 1/2 court fees. Didnt need a lawyer.

When adults act like adults it is not difficult.

Yeah...I would hope my wife and I would be reasonable enough to realize that we both need to come out good enough to buy & maintain decent places for the kids sake.

I pay almost $1,000 per month plus other odds and ends. It’s definitely a dagger.
