I was forgetting you got divorced in a different state. Disregard what I said :) Your payment isn’t based on LA’s charts.

Mine was 50/50 with no child support. Then, ex moved away for a job and she paid me $650 a month.
Then, when my daughter started high school, I thought it better for her to live with her mother and get that female support. I pay $400 a month. That ends this June.
My ex makes more than I do, so that’s why the disparity.

And the court ordered you to pay $1680 in child support? I don’t believe you.

Yeah but I moved back to LA and so it was based off of LA

It still doesn’t compute unless you live in a state with wacky laws like California or New York.

Her medical insurance is included plus I based it off of gross and no net and did 25% instead of 20%
I’m just happy she has become a better mom for our little girl

The child support never ends.
It’s a life sentence and my current wife just hit the roof about a new Greek Bill balance cause that shite was 100% paid off in January.
Thankfully it was just for an $18 T-shirt.

Husband paid the ex $1600 a month for two kids (split custody) which dropped to $1150 after one graduated. She kept the house and all possessions in the house. They split the retirement funds.
He also paid her an additional $1600 a month in temporary spousal support the first 18 months after they filed.
She was very vindictive and told the kids if they chose to live with us or visit, she would immediately notify their school that they were out of district so that they would have to change high schools. They would visit us on the weekends anyways but were too scared to spend the night. Now they are both in college and come home to live with us in the summer and all other breaks.

As I said I pay more than the minimum and decided to do so hoping she’d get off her arse and be a better mom.
So far she has been able to, hopefully that doesn’t change.

And I thank her for it. I was too stubborn to admit I was in a loveless, sexless marriage that made me miserable because I was unwanted. But I never would have left. I’d have just stayed in a stupor and worked until one day I said frick it and ate one. All I was good for was a paycheck.

quote:Wage garnishment is bs. The govt has no business getting involved with private businesses or people's jobs re: divorce. Some of you are hypocrites who claim to be all small govt but then are pro garnishment. Not paying child support might suck, but these divorced parents have already proved that.
I would file suit against the company for unpaid support

Mines a flat rate and includes everything. $300 per child for a total of $900 a month.
State garnishes my check every 2 weeks.

child support is a set amount, for the most part. i can link the charts if you'd like
That's the only part thats lined out. I'm talking about asking for accountability. The payer can ask the court for it by law but there aren't any specifics. Hell the judge can tell the payer to frick off as far as they're concerned because in the eyes of the court the dad is a deadbeat.
I was laid off and couldn't pay. My ex had me in front of a hearing officer with a quickness and this woman without knowing my situation automatically jumped in my arse as if I was a deadbeat that didn't love my kids. My attorney tells me at a later time he had another client she did this to. Since then I've asked that we skip the hearing officer and go to the judge. It may take longer but that person is obviously using her personal biases. Justice my arse.
With the advent of gay marriage, I want to see a judge sweat trying to make a custody decision between two dads. The pussy pass in family court needs to end.

And?
It didn't seem like a brag to me. Just answering a question about divorce settlements. Are you a communist?
