All of this. That and that anyone who complains about high school being hard is a fricking idiot

The power of time management...and how much I have a tenancy to procrastinate.

Took a sociology class, this was in early 2000s. Professor who was pretty awesome was getting around to figuring out the sides different people took on different topics, welfare, political leanings, religion, etc. He'd find someone who was staunch Republican and someone who was staunch Democrat, or Christian and then an atheist, etc.
Well, he then had the Democrat produce and argument in favor of being a Republican and the R form an argument in favor of being a D. He gave all these people several weeks to get ready for a debate and they'd have to argue on behalf of what they were originally against. It was meant to open your eyes to "the other side of the argument." It actually did that to me, I didn't take place in an argument, there was probably 50 people in the class and only 6 or 8 participated but he gave them an extra grade and was an A. He initially told them whoever won the argument would get an A and whoever lost wouldn't get a grade but they all did so well they all got As.
Was pretty cool watching someone who was say for welfare argue against it, or an atheist argue for Christianity.

Undergrad: at the time I thought it was opening my eyes to new philosophies, culture, religion, political ideas, etc. Turns out most of that stuff was self indulgent horseshite. But I did meet people from all over the state and from elsewhere, including foreign nations, who showed me different perspectives and worldviews in a more personal and deeper way.
Grad: After living as an adult in the real world for a decade and then returning to school for another degree, my eyes were open to how petty and fake much of academia is. Professors are often less intelligent than we thought they were as undergrads. University world is very narrow minded and judgemental it turns out.

Well that's the problem with a lot of people, religious, non-religious. Is that they are more worried about what other people are doing, what they believe or don't believe instead of focusing on their own faith and their own beliefs.

That not every family was batshit crazy like mine. I really attribute college to my lack of connection to my family now. They aren't worth the drama.

I'm nowhere near as smart as I thought I was.
Nobody gives a shite that you almost finished.
Most if not all of my problems are my fault.

1. How shitty and disrespectful kids were that came from money, especially to their parents and their parents' money.
2. Drugs
3. How easy everyone's daughters were
4. How nice it was to be able to pick and choose who I was friends with and not be stuck congregating with the same garbage slapsticks from my hometown.

High school was harder than college for me. I had significantly better grades in college than high school. But that had more to do with maturity and actually applying myself. Academics has more to do with effort than intelligence for most people, imo.

that if i want to make anything out of this life i have to work hard, stay out of trouble, make connections, and maintain a healthy work life balance.
that's what college is. 90% of what you learn is meaningless in your career. you're there to obtain an expensive piece of paper saying you are a responsible adult capable of having a successful career.

So can you still find the second derivative of 4x^2 + 4x + 1= without a google search? If so that’s all you need to know about calculus anyways.

How much fun LSU Football experience was as a student / fan. I never really got into it until just before college but really got to experience gameday stuff when I got there.
Politics to a degree. I never really gave a shite until college. Then I sort of gave a shite.

Drugs are easy to find.
Beer is cheap and will get you drunk.
Women are slutty.
Most people with degrees are dumb as shite.
