80s cars looked cheap, boxy and just plain ugly. Plus they had terrible engines due to new emission standards and poor tech to meet the standards and still produce HP

80s started the trend away from big luxury cars toward luxury trucks and SUVs and really took off in the 90s

I don't think it's possible to make a car uglier than a '78 Monte Carlo, but if anyone ever did it was also a 1970s model.
