I remember very well when the 3rd gen F bodies came out and they were sex on wheels.

Trucks were solid but gutless.
Of course back then people didn't expect their truck to have arse massagers and do zero to 60 in under 6 seconds.
The '88 Chevy and GMC GMT400's were a huge advance for trucks yet today would be considered fleet/work trucks for the most part today.

80s car design was driven by Carter environmental regulation. Everything got smaller, lighter, and had weaker engines.

The 70s, all cars were required to comply with the new federal 5mph bumper mandate. The manufacturers scramble to come up with designs, most looked like huge blocks of plastic stuck on the front of what could have been a decent looking car.

80s sucked horribly. But this is a pretty sweet concept.

For the 80s, I like this one.

One reason 80s were so bad is due to Roger Smith. He is the GM CEO who had the various brands use the same designs. Hence Cadillac looked like Buick which looked like Oldsmobile which looked like Pontiac. All individuality and character disappeared as the cars looked alike.

Truth. I don’t need anything more in a truck than what was offered in this body style, although the third door on the extended cab model didn’t come until ‘97 or’98.

80’s were full of awesome.

I believe the 80’s had the AMC Pacer and Gremlin.
Can’t get uglier than that.

Early 2000s were pretty bad.

One of the worst performing vettes produced. Body and suspension were long past obsolete. Its ugliness was under the hood. One engine available, the L81. 190HP/ 210lb.ft of torque. Only year of production. Not on anyone's list for a collector car.

288 is a masterpiece. Your opinion sucks.
