As a white guy in a relationship with a black woman for a year and a half, we refer to each other as our partners.
We live this experience and never once has either of us said anything crazy like I am reading in this thread.

In public, we always say partners. We're both interracial and intergenerational and refer to each other with complete respect.
Within our home we say husband & wife, but also countless other coupling nicknames, but nothing involving race.
Our bedroom language is anything we want and pretty dirty, but again, nothing based on race.
Others can do as they choose, but this approach works for us.
