I took a job offer today in that area and the wife works near Towne Center. I've honestly never been there, but I always hear good things about the town (especially the schools). Ideally we would have wanted to live in the Prairieville/SBR area but I don't think I'd want to make that hike everyday.

Zachary is nice baw. Growing quickly. Once you are past the 10-110 split traffic is very tolerable. Best schools in the state too.

If you have kids and have to work in the greater BR area, Zachary is the place to be.

It's a small town, relatively crime free, decent schools depending on the level of your children.

Not a lot of great shops but they have a Home Depot and Walmart. The ace hardware and Amrhein hardware in town are decent if you want more personalized service. They've opened a few decent places to eat. Any other type of shopping you'll need to order off of amazon or head into Baton Rouge.

Good schools, quiet town, decent amount of shopping and restaurants but be prepared for an occasional run into Baton Rouge for supplies.

There are bad parts of town like the Avenues (Ave A, Ave B, etc).

I could tell you a lot, but I will keep this short: I hit literally one red light from my front door to downtown BR.

Let that sink in for a minute.

Don't say anything positive about Zachary let ppl continue to move to prariville which is already a cluster and having traffic issues. Zachary is a better version of prariville on all levels

Zachary is nice. Quick access to BR. Great place for kids. Really nice parks. Schools are pretty good.

The biggest drawback is there isn't much to choose from if you want to go out to eat. It's pretty sad when your 2 best restaurants are Sammy's and Walkons. Bistro Byronz will open soon I believe. Try to wake up on a Saturday and Sunday morning and go grab breakfast... Your options are fast food drive thrus and waffle house. They are currently building a Pj's and CC's has a coming soon sign up. But at the moment there isn't a coffee shop in Zachary unless there one I'm unaware of.

Quickest way to Towne Center is get off at 22nd street to Government, left to Jefferson right to Towne Center. Miss all the bridge cluster. I do it almost daily.

They have a decent high school football team. LSU QB Lindsey Scott, Jr. played for Zachary. So did TCU OL Kellton Hollins, TX Tech WR Douglas Coleman, UTSA LB Donovan Perkins and Dartmouth RB Forrest Town.

These are not the best restaurants in town.

Small town feel for sure, good place for a family. I work in BR on LSU campus at the moment and the commute to campus is rarely a problem. We live on the West side of Zachary. Good schools. Downside is we are in BR just about every weekend.

Zachary is a nice town with a good school district. Easier access to the airport and most of Baton Rouge than Ascension or Livingston.
