Wow I didn't realize Sears and Roebuck started an online book store that eventually became a platform for both Sears and Roebuck and other third parties to also sell their literally everything at competitive prices and deliver it all within 2 days. History is a mother

I was buying it in 55 gallon drums but moving to the 275 gallon version allowed me to drop back to quarterly deliveries.

Sears and Roebuck sold entire fricking houses.......mail order.

They also owned their own manufacturing facilities, partnered with and kept afloat other American manufacturing facilities, employed who knows how many thousands of people, had warehousing and distribution that rivals what Amazon has now, and better customer service. You could buy anything from them 100 years or more before Amazon was even an idea.

The difference is Amazon was able to get loads of VC money and allowed to run at a loss for years while building their business. Even today it's stock price/market cap doesn't line up with anything traditional businesses were/are held to as far as profits.

I don't understand amazon hate.

Their site is loaded with fake Chinese crap and fake reviews that companies pay people to write so it manipulates the algorithm so those products show up first in your searches, and Amazon does little to combat it.

Obviously the limit is 300$ but if it's something really cool that's a little extra money post it anyway.

Buy home goods or things you buy anyway but can't find in your local store.

My wife got a $150 Amazon gift card last week and we spent it on socks, very specific pens, bulk windex, cereal that our local store doesn't sell, community coffee, etc. Just things we've spent money on in the past.
