We all have opinions on Dr. Fauci, the doctors' press conference in D.C., etc., but what are your own experiences? Are you personally in the medical field? Are you close friends with people in the know?

We have several friends who have treated Covid patients. The general consensus is that unless you you are very old with preexisting conditions or generally ill, your likelihood of surviving is overwhelmingly positive. None believe we should be locked down in any way.

I get that most docs aren't going to speak out publicly/officially due to hospital policies and fear of litigation, but what are you hearing on the street? There is an absurd disconnect between the science and politics. Since many feel like some censorship is happening, what anecdotes can you share?

My one doctor friend is not worried about it currently unless you are overweight or old. Not they're worried about flu season and the strands mixing to form some hybrid

One of my best friends is a pediatrician: wash your hands, don't touch your face, don't lick shite in public, wear a mask if you want.

Sadly it varies for most of them based on who they vote for.

The people I trust who have actually worked with COVID patients take it seriously without fear-mongering.

The truth is usually somewhere in the middle of the two extreme opinions, IMO.

Just went to mine this morning and we discussed all of this.. in a rural part of Ms.... at this clinic alone she said they had over 100 positive cases and ZERO hospitalized ... over half were completely asymptomatic and They were surprised at a positive test.

We agreed that kids needed to be in school that the flu will sadly kill
Many more school age kids than Covid ever will

One doctor friend is retired at age 50 and she questions a lot and is free to speak her mind because she doesn’t give a shite

Earlier this month I was feeling a little sick and called another doctor friend to see if he thought I should get tested. He said don’t worry about it and just get plenty of rest and such.

Docs I know don't seem that concerned.

The nurses on the other hand act like this will be the end of us and love to mention how they are on the front lines blah blah blah...sorry but most of the nurses I see posting this don't even deal with covid patients.

My primary physician and I discussed this 4 weeks ago. I asked her if she wore a mask outside the office. She told me masks are not effective. Most of this is being transmitted by direct contact... someone touching something and then their eyes/face.

She said when they close for lunch with no patients in the rooms, most of the staff including her do not wear masks. I asked her if she wore a mask outside the office like at the grocery store (this was before Harris County and Fort Bend reinstated mandatory mask requirements)? She said yes she normally wears one at the grocery story because she can see the real fear in the face of people when they see someone else without a mask.

She wears one to make others feel better but flat says they are not effective. She is a doctor at Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land on Hwy 59.

If it makes you feel any better actual doctors determined a fatal motorcycle accident was a China Virus death.

So they are just as fricking stupid as anyone else.

Heroes my arse.

I was told that healthy young people are less likely to have problems. Much like you are less likely to be in an airplane crash if you don't fly very often and don't fly in small aircraft through dangerous thunderstorms.
However, some people have to fly for their job or to get food like in Alaska. It is always a little dangerous for them kinda like people who are old and unhealthy.
That is what my doctor friend told me exactly word for word I swear on the honest to go random fake doctor Facebook post.

This. A couple of them are also saying that while there isn't a cure, some of the treatments that people have talked about (zinc, corticosteroids, etc.) can definitely have a positive impact if used before the symptoms get too serious.
