What do the richest people in your city or town do for a living? How much do they make yearly? Besides the people that inherited a frick ton of money.

Starting QB for the Saints is getting $25 million this year and he's worth every penny.

The richest people in every town are people who own a successful business. They may have inherited the business or be self-made, but there is no salary that can compare to owning a prosperous business.

FWIW, business owners are also the folks who go bankrupt most frequently, so there is some pretty substantial risk.

People who act like they have a lot of money aren't always the richest. Many people live beyond their means or are house poor. Then there are millionaires who never upgraded from their starter home and drive cars until their wheels fall off.

Many of the super rich have industrial service companies that most people have never heard about.

Also the people who own nursing homes have a ton on money.

Three fiddy

Wealthy folks consider net worth more than income.

If you owned a business that made a million dollars in profit in a year, the smart long play may be you only taking out $100k and leaving the $900k in the business to be reinvested to increase the value of the business.

That’s a simple illustration, there are much more complex scenarios. The point is that wealthy folks don’t know what they actually “make yearly”.

This is correct. Keep your salary income as low as possible. But the crying shame is you lose a giant chunk of that 900k to the tax monsters. It may not hurt the big guys as much. But it hurts the hell out of the small business folks that want to take it to the next level. It’s really hard to break out of the rat race.
