What are some things that have hit their innovation limit

And are not ever going to get any better because of insurmountable restraints. As time presses on, everything seems to essentially get better in the long run. Technologies always seem to ultimately improve. One thing I’m blown away hasn’t seemed to stop is the size of consumer computer processors. They get smaller and smaller every year and seem to at a steady pace. They’re down I believe into the single digit Nano meters. Blows my mind.

IMO the current iterations of the most popular mobile OSes. Both Android and iOS seem to have no great innovations left.

Paperclips.
THey do everything I need them to do. Couldn't even imagine another way they could clip and release paper any better. Re-usable too, good for the Green New Deal whenever that eventually goes through.

I often wonder how much better can TV get. Where’s the next big jump? I mean, quality has taken a huge jump in the past ~20 years. All we’re doing at this point is upping the resolution and fiddling with 3D to a degree.

Also, speakers. Signal processing has improved dramatically due to cheaper computing power, but (with the exception of miniature devices like phones) loudspeaker design hasn’t changed much in 50 years or so.
