If I’m being honest, same. But I also don’t recall ever asking for anything crazy until I turned 16 and wanted a car.

Me neither. I asked for Atari, Nintendo, a Mongoose bike, a dog, a trampoline, polo clothes (my two brothers wanted parachute pants one year I was like frick all that shite ).

My family wasn't rich but my dad made six figures in the 80s and didn't really save much money so they just said yes to whatever we asked for

Neo Geo

I had a friend who had one and they were worse off financially than we were. That's when I learned about credit card debt. I did think the Neo Geo was the best thing ever.

I pretty much got what i wanted. We opened our gifts on Christmas Eve at my grandparents house. The year I got a Nintendo I plugged her up when we got home and played SMB literally all night long and was so exhausted I slept through Christmas Day.

Christmas 1970: I wanted Incredible Edibles, but Santa fricked up and left a Thingmaker. Doesn't that a-hole realize the difference?

I have been asking for a flame-thrower since I was six years old. I never got it as a kid. And now here we are forty-eight years later and I still haven't got it.

A 6 figure income in the 80s was rich, particularly in the South
