:( I am searching for positive words but all I can come up with is- I hope the facts are overestimated.

I’m concerned and heartbroken for you Gulf coastal FL residents!! Where are you?

I live on the Atlantic Ocean side between Jacksonville and St. Augustine along the coast. I should not be affected by Hurricane Michael other than a little rain and wind.

Great news.

Frick FB, but it is useful to a lot of people for communication during emergencies.

How has your area fared historically?

I have not read the thread yet SEC. I am going to answer because I happen to know this. A cat 4 has never hit this area. Records have been kept back to 1850 or '51.

This.

You’ll be thankful you left after you hear the horrific stories of those who stayed.

Sorry you have to go through this.

Prayers would be appreciated. Probably about to lose everything, toughest thing I’ve ever had to do.

That's got to be a horrible feeling. I will pray for you and your family.

Damn, is it supposed to be that bad? My mom is in Miramar Beach and I haven't been following the news.

Glad your mom evacuated. We went to the vacation home this past weekend to pick up outdoor furniture, but I didn’t expect this storm to be what it has become. Hopefully I can get over there next week. I know someone in our neighborhood who decided to stay. After Katrina, I’ll never stay in a major hurricane again.

You did the right thing. It's just stuff and you can get it all back. Stand strong.

Prayers sent.

Wise decision. Stuff can be replaced. You and family cannot.

You’ll live. It helps that others around you will be going through the same thing. Hopefully you got as many of your valuables out with you as possible.

After you lose everything, it makes you live life differently. You’ll never care as much about material possessions again.

Please call your mom ASAP.

Just found out from my wife that they evac'd to Mississippi earlier today. That's what I get for never checking Facebook.

Or like maybe picking up a telephone...
