Prayers would be appreciated. Probably about to lose everything, toughest thing I’ve ever had to do.

Are you on the water?

Regardless, PCB has been hit before. How has your area fared historically?

I’m between front beach and back beach roads. We haven’t went through this kind of storm yet, I’ve only lived here 4 years. According to friends here, there hasn’t been a storm this bad maybe ever. Opal was supposedly devastating.

Yeah it’s bad. First time ever a Cat 4 has hit Florida’s gulf coast.

You're doing the right thing. Get your family to safety and be careful. Going to be ok.

Sorry to hear this brother. We have had several people on here that have been through this including losing everything due to flooding. My wife has a friend that lived through hurricane Andrew in the Miami area. Her family stayed and she and her family hunkered down in a bathroom as the home around them disinagrated around them. She has nightmares to this day when a storm is around. You did the right thing.

Please call your mom ASAP.

This must be difficult for the 30A folks who have gone without real hurricane drills for years. Imagine all the rental properties that will get more damage because the out-of-state/foreign owners can’t properly board up, elevate furniture/appliance, sandbag, etc in time. Hopefully everyone in danger’s way will take care to heed warnings and help others.

I also hope Michael does not severely devastate the unique beauty and precious dune lakes of this area long term. These communities are funded by tourism. IMHO Blue Mountain Beach, Seagrove etc are the best places to go in Florida. It just doesn’t get any better than a vacation near an open outfall of a dune lake in Florida.

Bells the area I am in went almost 60 years without being hit by a hurricane. Starting 2 years ago we got hit by Hurricanes, Matthew and Irma. I have gopro and drone footage of a beautiful valley of dunes with wooden crosswalks leading across them to the ocean. These videos were shot 3 years ago. Now they pretty much are all gone

Just found out from my wife that they evac'd to Mississippi earlier today. That's what I get for never checking Facebook.
