There is a story out there of a high school teacher who ate only McDonalds for 6 months and lost weight or something along those lines. It is all about calories in vs calories out.

Well, he was having breakfast, so he sure as shite didn’t have the McChicken (or whatever is pictured on there) or a Big Mac every day for 36 years.

While you are correct about calories in vs calories out in regards to losing weight...you've mistakenly conflated "health" with "weight" just because you are thin or fat does not mean you are healthy or unhealthy.

It was certainly implied that he ate breakfast. Why after 36 years of doing that would he suddenly go for lunch?

My grandfather did the same. Biscuit and coffee every morning at 6:00 from the time the mcD opened in our small town to the day my parents had to take his keys.

Most definitely. For most people, If they get a sausage mcmuffin every morning but exercise and maintain a balanced diet otherwise, That shite ain't hurting them.

Them health Nuts out there(many OTers) view eating fast food as if you're drinking bleach in the morning.

Weirdos.

It’s not so much about the processing of the food and more so about how processed food is hyper palatable, making it difficult to stay within calorie ranges.

Over-nourishment is the problem. If the guy was able to limit his intake of calories, then he’s just as healthy as anyone else making good choices with their nutrition.

(Also assuming he’s balancing his day’s macros efficiently)

It's good stuff. I try and limit to a couple times a month. The app not only makes it cheaper but helps me not overorder/overeat. I order one spicy chicken biscuit about 5 minutes away and stick to it. It's hard for a fat body like me. But doing better.

My fat arse while working from home during covid would often eat 2 breakfast biscuits and a hashbrown.

being fat is unhealthy on its face.

You may or may not be healthy if you are thin. You are unhealthy if you are fat.
