Kindness towards animals can tell you a lot about a person. Hate to see one suffer.

Good on you. At least you gave something a bit of comfort in its end.

Kudos to you. An admirable thing to do. That kind of kindness is what we need more in this world.

And he wasn't alone. My cat Chloe laid by him. She let me know he died.

No animal deserves to suffer. Good on you for giving it some peace.

Reminds me of my one and only rescue kitten. It was a cold, wet night and found her in the Home Depot parking lot. She grew up and I eventually gave her away after destroying my house a few times.

So glad to hear that you showed compassion and gave the kitten comfort before he passed. Your cat Chole showing him love says a lot about how well CHole is treated too.

People that hate on cats and cat lovers are very misguided. I'd be wiling to be most of them have never been cat owners.

Cats are very different than dogs, they've evolved from entirely different perspectives. Dogs are pack animals so they seek companionship and grouping. Cats are isolationist in the wild. That mentality stays with them even though they've evolved to the domestic cats we know as pets. THey don't trust you until they have a reason to, even then it takes awhile to form that bond that's required to really 'know' a cat. Therefore, people that don't like cats because they only know 'other peoples cats', don't experience what I'm talking about. My cat is a stray that I found behind a grocery store when he was about 4 weeks old. We bonded quickly, but as social and trusting as he is with me, when others come over he hides behind the couch. It's in their nature.

Cat haters are short sighted. Cats are great pets if you put in the work and give them attention and earn their trust. Dogs are attention sluts. Cats are classy.

You comforted a scared little creature and made its final moments warm and dry. Good on you.

Agreed, Jackie.

OP stopped what he was doing to care for an unfortunate animal. I can surmise quite a bit about his character from these actions.

my daughter picked up a stray kitten years ago that we kept until she died, exhibited all of those traits, didn't give two shits for me, the two days before she died she would come up to me and hang, would come in my closet while I would be getting dressed, the night she died she came into the den while the wife and I were watching tv and stood and faced us for a minute then laid and died right there

ETA: dogs still way > than cats
