Well this sucks. Closing end of October. Business really fell when the mall moved it upstairs. Saks closing was the final nail.

AE has come out with a Reserve line that has Alden prices and is supposed to be Alden quality.

Odds are you will turnover most of the watch and specialty outposts that would be de facto saks sections.

Getting the right saks replacement will be big. Rumors abound but we will see if ink hits paper.

I think I have 6 pairs of AE's. After the last pair I bought, I don't think I'll ever buy another pair. Admit they were the tennis shoe version and have never had issues with their dress shoes, but I can't stand those particular shoes. I have enough dress shoes I don't really need more. But if I do get another pair, I'll spend a little more.

Vanity. I just go to Shoe Station and buy what looks nice. The majority of people have no clue what’s on your feet nor do they care.

AE was bought by private equity, and then again by a nother firm. Its not what it used to be.

And Canal Place ain't that hot either these days. Unfortunately Canal is no longer a high end retail street, it's more a sneakers and t-shirt tourist retail spot.

If you want good mens stuff in NO, George Bass or Perlis is the spot. Bass has top quality shoes, Perlis has some good stuff but no stratosphere stuff like Crockett or Ed Green. Ever since the place over on Tchopitoulas closed, I don't think anybody sells Alden in town.

You’re right. And the judge at your child support hearing is just glad you showed up with your shirt tucked in.

Sounds like you know something about that child support thing.

That’s not me. I’ve been happily married for 50 years as of August 13th of this year. I believe in vows before God and man. I’ve kept them and will until my death.

I have two wonderful children married long term to two great spouses that I love as my own. I have 6 beautiful grandchildren that are my life.

I respect a person more that is about who they are than what they wear.
