Compassion goes a long way.

I 100% understand where the company is coming from in regards to the booking policy. And if this was a "regular" cancellation, I'd side with them. But an "Act of God" occurred and therefore the contract should be annulled.

Then again, Justin looks like a psychopath.

This. Sometimes in business you should do the right thing, even if you lose a little money in the process. Making customers happy and having good reviews/opinions of your business is more valuable than getting every dollar owed after some poor lady dies that owed you money

I understand that things are non-refundable, but Jesus Christ work with the guy. I know I wouldn't want to profit in that situation, and would probably split the difference.

I mean, if the dude threatened them saying "I'm going to post about this" or "I'm going to the media" or something like that then I can't have sympathy for him.
There are correct ways to handle this type of situation that happen all over the world every day. The company could have stayed within their rights and handled it properly without making a mockery of the situation. Instead they walked right into all the social backlash that they are getting.

What a POS person to post that about 'today would be the day' crap.

I understand the no refund deal, they've likely had 4 months of weddings cancel so I get that part, but to in any way publicize or especially mock the guy that lost his fiance is a total shitbag move. frick that guy. That's a low down, dirty, and just plain POS move.

Yeah I agree. I thought on it more and it's not excusable.

Seems to me, they could have offered a partial refund. No services were rendered.

They are heartless in their actions and I hope they take a financial hit.

I’m guessing they may be strapped for cash due to Covid, making them even less likely to issue a voluntary refund, but that recent post is despicable and inexcusable imho.

If able, I would think most decent humans would choose to issue a refund in the death of one of the engaged - it’s not like they broke up.

That company is ran by shite people and I wouldn’t care at all, if not enjoy, if the negative pub from this causes them get no new gigs and go out of business.

Going to the media to complain about not getting a refund on a signed contract is in the wrong, maybe a 2 out of 10 on the wrong scale. What the dipshits did afterwards in response is pretty damn close to a 10.

It doesn't look like this has been posted but apparently the "videographer" is a serial scammer who defrauded couples in multiple states for services never rendered

Without clicking any links or researching this at all, I’d wager a pretty penny that the videography company is owned by homosexuals. They’re ruthless

Contracts are contracts but my god..... just take the weekend off and give the man the $1800 back. Is the risk of bad publicity worth that?

I truly wish nothing but the worst for this “company”. Sounds like some egotistical a-hole soy boy.

Whoever runs this company needs an absolute brutal arse beating. Broken facial bones, hospitalization, surgery, the whole nine yards.

I'm with the video company on this one as it pertains to the money. Their explanation for why the contract is non-refundable is detailed and logical. No need for the taunting though

At this point, it’s not the policy that’s the problem. It’s how they treated the client. Totally disrespectful.
