Agreed. I have a kettle like that one and a Weber Genesis E-335S natural gas grill connected to my home gas supply that I use at least 3 times a week that I love as well. Both great cooking tools.

My webber finally broke. After 16 years.

Fence from hurricane fell on it when it was blown over.

I repurposed it as burn barrel for private paperwork.

That grill is still putting in work.

I have four different Weber models. They are great grilling pits! Get you a Vortex if you dont have one!

All the guys from Vermilion Parish tell me the Weber ain’t got nothing on an Old Smokey. Can someone from Kaplan please chime in and let us know if this is true or not?

It's hard to go wrong with a Weber and Kingsford charcoal.

I went gas.....but I miss my Weber

ditto. i enjoy the ability to just fire it up and get burgers or chicken done quickly, but there's just something i miss from sitting around drinking a few beers, waiting for the fire to die down and slow cooking.

i mean i can throw down a beer or two while gas grilling, but it's not a sitting outside and enjoying the evening experience.

i'm going to keep the gas grill for quick things, but i'm planning on a traeger, pit boss, or green mountain in the future after we finish our wrap around deck in the spring.

frick all these thousand dollar contraptions. I can cook anything on a kettle.

I cooked some great ribeyes in college on a 10 dollar camping charcoal grill hidden on my apt balcony cause grills were banned there. Supposed to use public ones in the courtyard but I wasn’t about to carry all my shite down 4 flights of stairs and 200 yards across the yard to cook a steak only to have it get cold by the time I carry everything back to the room after cooking.

Anyways, paying more than a couple hundred bucks for a grill is retarded.

The older I get the less I feel like dumping and dealing with the charcoal. It burns for hours. You only use it to cook for 20 minutes or so. It’s just a pain and wasteful.

One of the best upgrades you can make to a Weber Kettle is putting a smoker gasket on the lid. When I am finished grilling, I put on the lid, close both vents, and walk away. Within 30 minutes the fire is out. It saves charcoal and definitely helps with smoking. If a person who has a Kettle does nothing else, they should add the gasket.

Anybody who is bragging on this has never owned a ceramic grill. The Webber is more nostalgic but if you think it is versatile and can cook anything, I’ve literally slow cooked a pork butt for 10 hours and then did some stir fry vegetables on my wok in the same grill 15 minutes after I took the butt off. I’ve gotten my egg up to 750 degrees and cooked a pizza in 7 minutes. Get my egg up to 650 and sear my steak to where I do 2 mins on each side and let it rest for 8 and it comes out perfect medium rare. Webber can’t do that and anyone who says it can is full of it.

I can and have done all of that on my Weber Kettle. It isn't hard.

I do that all the time without the gasket and my fire always goes out quick and I can reuse the charcoal.

You can't grill if you think any of that isn't possible on a kettle.

ETA: In addition to being able to do all of the above, kettle is superior for two zone cooking.

Done it on a kettle.

Can also be done on the kettle, particularly easy with the pro grate or whatever it is called. You take out the round center section and sit in the wok. Simple.

You can peg out the thermometer on a kettle using nothing but a Vortex and some charcoal.

my egg up to 650 to sear a steak

I've done the same. Can do it with the vortex. The Slow-n-Sear. Or just two strategically placed bricks.

Yep. It can. And you seem to be the one full of shite.

The ash management on a weber kettle is worth the price alone. That said, I like my PK more.
