Weather models > local TV weather guys

Computer models were consistently showing 2-4" in BR area. Some of the local weather guys were borderline belligerent yesterday and the day before about "very little snow and no accumulation". Let's see if they learn from this and trust the NAM and other models next time around.

I guess some of these local guys are trying to achieve weather legend status. They roll the dice by going against the models, and if they turn out to be right and the models are wrong, they'll milk that moment for the rest of their career.

Yeah, today's snow made them look like complete asses with zero credibility. It's one thing to say you are predicting something a little different than the models. It's another to be a condescending prick...only to be proven COMPLETELY wrong

Exactly. It's not that they were wrong. Wbrz was legitimately being dicks about it.
One example. This was yesterday
Shouldn't a meteorologist know that's not the case?

Last time I checked #SIRI was not a meteorologist, however neither is your computer-based weather app. Our app has real people behind it. It's not impossible, but the chance for mixed wintry precipitation is VERY low Friday morning.

In lieu of continuous Lloyd Christmas memes about #BatonRouge area snow, here are "chances" for snow. It's better to approach a forecast like this in probabilities rather than definitives. Most likely scenario is no accumulation, less than 25% chance of 1-2 inches | #LaWX #MsWX

#FlakeNews? Our Futurecast is getting the idea that some snow is possible along the Gulf Coast, but like us, it's not convinced that we'll have a chance of winter precipitation across our area. Pat and Josh will have more as we approach Flakey Friday

Unless that temperature goes below 32° nothing will stick to/freeze on roads; and we're forecasting mid 30s. Bridges are a potential exception--especially north of I-12. If snow does indeed fall, visibility would be reduced.

The thing about stupid people is that they have no idea they are stupid.

Channel 2 completely whiffed on the flood. Can't track a hurricane for shite till the very end when a monkey could predict the track, and looked like asses on this snow prediction.....All of them meed a meteorological refresher course...

Wait. You mean computer models and there aren't pics?!

Were they going for clickbate just to be wrong? WAFB was sooo much more level headed with Grimes calling for 1-2 inches in BR.

wunderground.com is the GOAT.
WAFB sucks arse and so does WBRZ. wunderground.com predicted snow when I looked the day before, so I figured we had a good chance.

As late as 3am Friday they were still saying the snow was a farce. No way it would happen. Then when it started it was “no accumulation is possible.” Then people started sharing pictures of their yards.
I forgot about Shingeton and the flood.

The day before, Grimes showed all 4 models (1 predicting nothing and 1 predicting 3-4"). He said the models had him confused - he was honest and took the time to lay out the facts.
Shingleton, on the other hand, took his time to tell jokes and act like the bafoon he is. Reminds me of the time when hurricane Harvey was dropping 2 feet of rain in Houston and he was still adamant about it going into Mexico. Weather forecasters get things wrong and I can accept that but when you are stubborn to the point of looking like an idiot then you need to go.
