You do realize that there were different theaters going on at the same time, right?

A Jeopardy I saw eons ago said it was NC

This article claims it's between NC and VA (records aren't clear)

frick your "we."

And my great (x2) grandfather died in Chicago in a confederate POW camp.

I still am proud that the union survived.

Lost Cause people typically don't think about the Western Theater, where the Confederacy was down by 3 touchdowns in the first quarter.

Martin Sheen was the General in charge. We weren’t winning anything.

Jackson's death

Lee's use of "if practicable" re taking Cemetary Hill in communication with Ewell.

I was saying it because there were 5 different theaters spreading out the armies. Obviously, the south was already at a disadvantage from the get-go.

Heth's division on the first day...that would have turned that battle.

I am kind of glad the South lost. I am a proud US citizen. Sure, I am proud to be from the South, but I am a Southerner from the US.

Get this shite out of here you unpatriotic frick.

Once the Confederates won Manassas (either 1st or 2nd, take your pick) they should have marched straight to DC and taken it.

Why they wanted a long, drawn-out war when the Union had all the gun manufacturers is beyond me.

(Of course were we to have a second war, now most of the manufacturers are in the South.)

That’s what happens when you leave your largest city and port almost completely undefended despite having zero navy. Without control of New Orleans, the South was crippled unless they could get the British to intervene.

No. No General in history would have won Gettysburg for the South.

But Southerners don’t want to hear this but the difference between a good general like Lee and a great General is that Napoleon wouldn’t have fought Gettysburg in the first place.

General George Pickett is a victim of history that that charge is named after him instead of the guy who enjoyed the smell of his own farts too much who ordered it.
