Well, Temple folks would have fought for the north, UConn (AAC member til 6 weeks ago) are Yankees, so too would Cincinnati, and while many officers deserted back to the south, I’m pretty sure the Navy would have been on the side of the Union.
Oklahoma was Indian Territory so Tulsa wasn’t fighting, SMU is soft and so is Tulane. So the 14 teams in the SEC shoulda whooped the 5 standing AAC schools.

It’s amazing to me that a discussions about a Civil War battle can’t be had on here without someone coming on here and throwing racist, losers, you lost get over it around. There are discussions about lots of other battles that are discussed without this.
And of course the US is better because the Confederacy lost. I would venture that most people romanticize the Lost Cause not because of a want of slavery but because of the South being the little guy and taking on the man against all odds. I think most people pull for the underdog a lot of the time.
Same thing with American Indians. I respect the heck out of them and think they are an awesome symbol. I always pulled for the Indians growing up but I’m glad they lost and the US expanded westward.

I’m pretty sure Lee was such a genius he let the Yankees come right up the Mississippi and take Louisiana early in the war without sending any help. That was real brilliant, the river and port wasn’t important
Lee was a dumbass, without stonewall at the start of the war it would have been over in months

The fence was seen and known before Pickett's assault on Cemetery Ridge. Anderson's division of Hill's Corps had attacked through roughly that same area the afternoon before. The Confederates figured they could knock it down and they did in some places. However, there were other places along the Emmitsburg Road where the fence was too deeply entrenched in the ground to knock down. Hence why some Confederates were forced to climb over or take cover in the road itself.

Ignorance or Sarcasm? Lee was in command of the defense of Georgia and the Carolinas when New Orleans fell. He was in no way part of those decisions.

South would have won if Stuart had been in the field and if they had been more aggressive in taking strategic positions when they first arrived on station (and if Lee's plans had not fallen into Union hands)

Arkansas didn't have any big, rich plantation farmers and a very few fighting age men. Y'all started that shite over free labor and tariffs/taxes. We more than supported the cause based on population and financial resources. In return, y'all got your shite pushed in and we got to suffer for the next 100+ years economically after reconstruction. If you dumbasses would've been smart, we'd have lured those yankee fricks up into the Ozarks and they'd never be seen or heard from again.

We would have won the war straight out in the beginning if Lee would have marched to Washington after destroying the Union army at Bull Run.Problem was Stonewall wasn't ready and his second general in command was not aggressive enough.

Gettysburg was even attempted because the North had all the resources and manpower (including German mercenaries). The South was never in a positions to win a long protracted war but Northerners outside of minority really didn't give two shiites about being in it at all.
