re: We can’t get away from oil and gas for energy quick enough!

Now that we are a net positive oil producer we should de-couple our oil production from world market price. Fix our oil on a cost plus profit arrangement. Our domestic production sale price never falls to a point our companies are losing money, but they also can’t rip us off due to whatever rag head nonsense is going on in the world

You would think that would work, however, the major oil companies own the infrastructure to the point of refine and distribution worldwide.
Electric vehicles aren’t the answer either. You reach a point where the owner wants the new model or color and the depreciation of the new toy, doesn’t keep up with next door neighbor. Eventually the need of a replacement battery costs more than the car is worth. That replacement battery cost eliminates the savings on gas. Now you are driving a replacement battery in a vehicle that looks like a model A Ford and not like the new Ferrari next door.

The Mr Fusion only supplies power to the flux capacitor. The engine is still gas.

2026 United States intervention in Venezuela
---what "war"?
---what "war"?

They jumped the shark with the very first one. No, WW1 was not “an oil war”. Sure, oil was a commodity used in the war, but so was water. And you wouldn’t call it “a water war”.

Without arguing the viability of alternate sources of energy, as long as the US is tied to oil, the more we have to kiss the arse of or go to war with the ridiculous monarchys and oligarcs of the world.

You’re right about fusion vs fision.
Fusion actually works better in your op. We're not there yet, but fusion is safe enough for vehicles, while fission is not.

Yeah, that was a war either.

Oh my…
Should we start fixing beef, egg and crawfish prices too?

It's produced all over the world and has demand all over the world. It's going to be a fungible global market no matter how it's produced.

Works out well for Venezuela, Pemex, etc.
And you dumbshits don't take it account that it's in your garbage cans, your socks, medications, your kid's ebikes, text books, chromebooks, you have to use it to make fertilizers, lubricants and all other stuff.
But don't let your refusal to bring your Monsters from home and buy more than one roll of dip at a time, saving you money, to get involved in the means of production and maintenance, nancy.

Gas is cheaper than a gallon of milk or the bottle of water you have in your fridge. And 63% of the price at the pump goes to TAXES!! And most of that is FEDERAL TAXES! So gas and oil aren’t the problem. It’s your politicians. Nobody ever bitches about that, because people are sheeple and people are stupid. It’s a hidden tax that 99% of people don’t know exists.
Fusion or electric cars?! LOL. You can forget your naive pipe dream anytime soon. This ain’t Back To The Future kiddo!
Now I’m all for many many more nuclear power plants. But they aren’t powering your car anytime soon. Hydrogen maybe, but you won’t be driving a nuclear hot rod in your lifetime.

You mean flux capacitors?

FACT - in return for counties (including OPEC) conducting oil sales transactions using inflated "Petro-dollars", America has agreed to use the OPEC oil price schedule.
Plus, an interesting development in the Trump - XI Jinping talks. China will stop buying oil from Iran and start buying oil from the United States. Huh? As it applies to the pesky Iran matter, President Trump went for the jugular. With one agreement President Trump dried up a major source of revenue for the Iranians (hint: Chyna was getting 90% of their oil from Iran) - he cut-off their oil sales to Chyna. Iran responded by putting a bounty on President Trump's head and taking a parting shot at a Chinese tanker. Presumably a Chinese tanker in the process of changing their route from an Iranian port to an American port.
Another lesson in the "Art of the Deal" by our President Trump.
And all the mentally challenged democrats can do is send AOC out to argue 'the death of MAGA means the end of the Confederacy' absurdity. AOC - another candidate for the prestigious "She be eat'up with the dumb**' Darwin Award.
Sigh.

Natural gas prices are probably 1/3 the cost of Europe and Asia. It only reaches the global market via LNG which is significantly higher priced than local market.

I mean a fusion reactor in car would be a game changer. Buuuuut that technology in a small size might be 100 years away.

What is the solution for the aviation industry? Don’t think electric motors and batteries will outperform hydrocarbons anytime soon.
