It wasn't so much the message as it was the delivery. Gillette's ad was smothered in sanctimony and condescension. There might be a good way to do an ad like theirs, there might not, but the way they approached was very insulting. It came off like a schoolmarm lecturing her class. After seeing the team behind it, this was no coincidence. It's the way those types talk to everyone that doesn't agree with their ideology. I don't care how valuable a lesson you're trying to teach, don't talk down to me and accuse me of things I've never done.

Well there's bad marketing too. The Gillette commercial was bad marketing. This watch commercial was a positive commercial.
