You did the right thing. It was the other owner’s fault.

I'm surprised you didn't have your chiweenie in your purse to began with.

Yes. Learn how to control a dog. It’s easy. They listen to your body language. If they don’t, then you take action. It’s called being a man. Was this dog even going to attack? Probably was just trying to play.

It’s not his responsibility to be the dog whisperer. He made a split second decision to protect his dog. I don’t see a problem with this.

It’s not your responsibility to stop a woman from being raped, but as a man, you do it.

A real man would wait till the rapist unclothed himself, then run over and rape the rapist.

No, a real man doesn’t need to wait for the rapist to uncloth.

This is a ridiculous argument.

I'd have no problem if you kicked the shite out of my young one because he looks menacing coming at you but if my old man was limping towards you and you did that I'd be irate.

Our power went out during one of the bad storms we’ve had recently, and as it was early in the morning and the rain had let up, I took my boxer for a walk. 30 seconds after leaving my driveway with my dog on a leash, these two dogs with electric fence collars on cane running up to us. At first I though the big yellow lab (bigger than my boxer) was going to be friendly, but as my dog is sniffing at him he growls and snaps. I started to kick him in the snout while simultaneously trying to keep my dog from tearing into him. A truck then pulls up and calls the dogs over. I didn’t stick around, but if he would have said something to me I would have been pissed.

Nothing pisses me off more than people thinking their dogs are ‘cool’ and everyone likes them. Screw that dog and his owner.

Either next time he’ll have the dog on a leash, the dog will think twice about running up to strangers, or both.

A. Idiot owner was wrong taking the dog off the lead where the rules are on leash.

B. That being said, EMT and sheriff's Dept would have been on site if you kicked my dog like that. I would have called them before I walked over and tried my best to cripple you. And I'm 53 and haven't been in a real fight since high school. I might have lost the fight and/or gotten arrested, but you'd be in a lot of pain before it all ended and I'd have your home address from the police report.

So I'm walking my chiweenie (15 lbs) in the local park, "On a leash".

City Ordinance requires a leash and there are multiple signs around the park indicating so.

Jackass comes in the park with a 40-50 lb shepherd mix and just lets it go free, dog eyes my boy Rocky from 100 yards and makes a bee line for him.

Right before he got to him I kicked the guys dog in the chin flipping him and nearly me, I got his arse good.

The owner was pissed but I told him to keep his F'ing dog on a leash. Dude said I should have just gotten between them and seemed to want to throw knuckles about it

I'm a dog lover and even though you had a pussy dog....it was YOUR little pussy dog.

If it was in danger or threat from another dog, then you did the right thing. I support you 100%

ETA: I JUST looked up a chiweenie.....I sorta like it. I take back the "pussy dog" comments."

KICK THE shite OUT OF THAT BULLY DOG!!!!!

ETETA: Also known as the Mexican Hotdog or German Taco!!!! Maybe now my favorite little dog.

I agree dog should have stayed on lead. And you're right, a lot of people think everyone loves his dog as much as he does, when 90% of people shouldn't own dogs. Most people these days are garbage and most dogs are poorly trained if trained at all.

That being said, other than the trash breed pit bull (all of which should be put down at birth) even I give dogs a chance before removing mine from a situation. Dogs are naturally social creatures. Dogs will be dogs. A dogs body language will tell you what's about to happen before it happens, and if you can't read that or figure it out you shouldn't own a dog, and it sure as hell doesn't justify you being physically violent.

You were right to prevent the dog from getting to yours and for shitting on the guy for having his dog off leash, but personally I wouldn't have kicked the dog. Usually an aggressive step towards and a good yell will scare em away.
