I also agree that medium to long beards look absurd on almost everyone. A legit trapper or homesteader it makes sense. However a short well groomed beard looks fine on a good amount of people but some just can't pull it off. Also if it's splotchy, it's terrible. I keep a short beard because shaving makes me break out and shaving sucks. Also I'm bald so having a baby smooth face with a shiny head looks stupid to me and I hated it.

I know for me it's kind of embarrassing walking around with a smudge on your forehead. It actually makes me be more humble and not so prideful. Furthermore we are called to be disciples of Christ and what better way to show that on Ash Wednesday by wearing your ashes fo all to see.
Many people are also trapped there and are scared of retaliation. Going to take a long time if ever to get it back to some sort of community and place where business can thrive.
It's not a small minority. It's literally at least 50% of black men in Baton Rouge between 13 and 30. Their families protect them. The women of the same age bracket really are no better but they aren't committing many violent crimes. It's also hard to be raised in that environment and not become a part of it.

She really wasn't asking for mercy or unity, she was asking for people to follow her political beliefs. I think showing mercy is stopping kids from being transitioned. I think Mercy is deporting families together and giving them information on how to enter legally. I think Mercy is not allowing young kids to be trafficked in and lost in the system. Let me guess, your idea of Mercy is to decriminalize drugs like Portland and watch the city rot or decriminalize shoplifting like San Francisco and watch companies leave and homelessness skyrocket. The thing with your kind of Mercy is that is isn't Mercy but is actually something called enabling. Sometimes you have to put your foot down and say "no." Have you never heard the term tough love.
Do you know that all these juveniles who commit serious crimes basically have their records expunged when they become an adult. It goes away like it never happened. No one knows and you can't hold it against them in court.

The 17 year old rule is absolutely needed. The worst offenders are mostly young adults. The juvenile justice system is a joke. It has nothing to do with scaring kids but arresting burglars, vehicle thieves and murderers.
