re: Warning: here are "signs of whiteness"

In a reasonable universe, we could talk about predominate themes of black and white culture without people getting all "WELL ACKSHUALLY" about it because we all know they're not universal and stereotypes aren't without plenty of exceptions.

American white people tend to avoid conflict, probably maintain smaller circles of intimacy than black people (family, social interaction, etc.), and have devoted decades and billions of dollars to making our society less intimate (even under the guise of making it more interconnected).

i'm talking modern cultures

scandinavians are about as non-confrontational as you can get these days

How many of those boxes do they collectively check off? They being them. You know.

I guess in a statistical and macroscopic sense sure, but that's not really where I'm aiming. I'm not saying white people as a whole actively participate in conflict, I'm saying ascribing these aversions to all white people and crafting this term "white culture" to rope all white people under an umbrella strikes me as racist.

It's why in your second sentence you used the letter "s" next to "white culture". There are so many subsets of people with white skin that I don't see how it isn't racist to group them together and ascribe things to them as a collective, even if those things are mostly positive.

It's to my point on if someone were to generate a graphic of "black culture" similar in format to this, I think their life would be over in about five seconds.

The scientific method is white? Is there something wrong with it?

There's so much wrong with this. Simplistic, reductive, prejudiced, false. And I don't think it's really worth the effort in figuring out how to break it all out.

That looks like a poster of goals that everyone should strive to attain? What’s the problem with this?

I agree

But as is frequently discussed of late, for a decade we treated critical race theory and intersectional queer feminism and God knows what else like the stupid academy creations they appeared to be. And now they're being pushed in the mainstream. Views like "you can't not be racist, you must be anti-racist" are in Fortune 500 boardrooms and school books.

I think we have to start assuming that this shite has legs, because the evidence indicates it does.

unless we're talking about cultural appropriation, i don't think many even admit there is a "black culture" that easily
