Today, oil ticked up to $92.60 per barrel. During the Biden Regime when oil was at this price per barrel, gas was $3.88 a gallon. Diesel was around $4.59 a gallon. Today, gas is $4.47 a gallon. Diesel is $6.52. Today the prices are artificially high. Who shut down the Keystone pipeline? Who shut down the off shore drilling? Who shut down the drilling in Alaska? Who shut down the Line 5 in Michigan? Who shut down drilling on Federal Land? Sorry windmills and solar panels do not put gas in your cars. Critical Thinking?
Trump has been a disaster. We had the opportunity to do so much and it is just being wasted. Now with most families feeling the pinch we will lose ground in mid terms and possibly lose the White House in spite of having two pretty solid candidates.

It’s a different topic altogether. These bitching threads are about microeconomics and the impact of fuel on inflation is a macroeconomic topic. Yes, they eventually intersect but fuel as an input cost isn’t the root of the backlash.

As I replied to Obtuse, this topic conflates two different things. The gas pump outrage is a microeconomics issue. I absolutely agree with the macroeconomic impact that fuel has on inflation. What I disagree on is that the average American getting pissed off about fuel prices isn’t thinking about all the downstream producer input costs and how that eventually hits their wallets. Average consumer is reacting to the pump price and the immediate cost to fill up. Of which, I think that pump price is overinflated in importance (the macro toll that fuel price increases drive is a much greater and stickier issue).

I think gas prices are arguably the most visibly priced item in the country (seeing daily, numerous times, even when not “shopping”) so they are way more top of mind than they deserve.
If someone is driving an hour to work each day in an F250, then yeah, I see this mattering more to those individuals.
Everyone knows transportation costs begin and end with whatever you personally put in your gas tank.

Yes it is. Because we understand that we are not just getting fricked at the gas pump. We are getting gangbanged everywhere we damn go. Grocery store, bang! Restaurant, bang! Amazon, bang! Power bill, bang! I guarantee you everyone bitching understands this and understands the hurt that continues after they leave the gas station.

And there were 10x more when Obama and Biden were in office. Ragincajuns one a week is pretty tame and frankly just a board staple at this point.
Also, unlike when gas prices were high under Obama, this dumbass president is directly responsible for the high prices.
You probably don't care being retired and driving a 08 Corolla, but I am dropping about 1.5K a week for my companies gas. I for one wouldn't mind the prices to go down.
First time in my life that republican party leader seems to dislike the working class more than a democrat.
