Dont have a price complaint story, but i do have a "my wife tells me her fuel light was on this morning and she didnt have time to get gas on the way to work because she was running late" story to add to this thread.....

Approximate US refinery capacity/day in barrels:
gasoline 9.0MM
diesel 5MM and
jet fuel/kero1.5MM
US daily demand in barrels:
gasoline 8.8MM
diesel 3.6MM
jet fuel/kero 1.8MM
gasoline 9.0MM
diesel 5MM and
jet fuel/kero1.5MM

A little help here Caray.
Today, oil ticked up to $92.60 per barrel.
During the Biden Regime when oil was at this price per barrel, gas was $3.88 a gallon. Diesel was around $4.59 a gallon.
Today, gas is $4.47 a gallon. Diesel is $6.52.
Today the prices are artificially high.
Who shut down the Keystone pipeline? Who shut down the off shore drilling? Who shut down the drilling in Alaska? Who shut down the Line 5 in Michigan? Who shut down drilling on Federal Land? Sorry windmills and solar panels do not put gas in your cars.

It was the Keystone XL (Extension), but point taken there. Biden was an idiot for it. Fortunately, some other not as political hot potato pipelines have been constructed to help.

Again, no one. Yes, an idiotic 60 day moratorium on new projects on Federal Lands was placed once Biden was sworn into office, but the U.S. still hit record production numbers during his administration. I can tell you oil & gas activity was still hot and heavy on Federal Lands in New Mexico.

This is an extremely naive line of thinking.
High diesel prices will leak into large portions of the American economy. Everything you see in a store gets there from a diesel truck. All food that hits the shelves is grown by farmers using diesel and transported by trucks using diesel.
High energy prices are an immediate driver of inflation. It has the largest immediate impact on the average American. I’m a registered independent (downvote all you want), and the reason I have voted for Trump 3 times was for his view on unlocking American energy. This war has done the exact opposite.
I understand our objectives in Iran. Combining it with our actions in Venezuela, the goal was to ensure American dominance of the Petro dollar and put china at bay. But this is a decade plus long endeavor that the average American does not have the stomach nor wherewithal to endure. So in the end, our actions in the Middle East will end in a quagmire, and the American people will only ever experience the short-term pain.
