I got stopped right there by secret service stopping traffic about 4:45 and got a front row view. Must have had 25 SUVs, 2 ambulances then another 25 motorcycle cops. Pretty neat thing to see considering it was totally unexpected to me.

Old white guys like Dearmans and he probably had a few bites of a burger then carried on to CCL. Who cares where pence gets taken to eat

Precisely, I heard the Commissioner of Agriculture, Mike Strain say he was going to CCLA this afternoon to greet Pence.

32 years in BR and I don’t think I’ve ever been to Dearman’s. Seems like the old Baton Rouge crowd which I despise hanging around.

Wrong. I don't believe they sell franchises. They are family owned. Three brothers of semi-retired parents who owned several restaurants.

A chain? And not even the original, but a franchise? GTFO.

You can bet the Secret Service has been in there a long time and they probably cooked the burger themselves.

In 20 years I've lived in Baton Rouge, never crossed my mind to eat at Dearmans. Take the man to Parrains! You can find a Dearmans type place anywhere.

If you were entertaining a big client or CEO of a large company that is from out of town, you want to show him some local place, does Dearman's even make it in the top 50 in the area?

When I lived in BR my office was close to Dearman’s. I took a client there once and the kitchen staff started arguing with the manager. The lady screamed that the tuna sale in the fridge was over a week old.

I took another client there and he found a long arse hair in his burger patty. They apologized and made him another one. Yep, that one had a hair too. This was around 2002-2003. Haven’t ever gone back.

ETA: Fairview grill RIP (I think that was the name) was much better.

Well when you entertain that “very important person” please let us know your dining plans.

Correct. Both locations of Roux 61 are owned by the original family.

And they picked Dearman's because all places in St. George were already full...
