In a statement, Louisiana Association of Educators President Debbie Meaux denounced the way Hargrave was treated at the meeting.
"As an organization that advocates for the dedicated school employees of Louisiana, we firmly denounce the mistreatment of Ms. Hargrave, a loving parent and dedicated teacher serving the students of Vermilion Parish," Meaux said.

Oh he's lying ... didn't the super gave her permission to speak. And she didn't say she speaks for all teachers and no one there complained about her speaking for those afraid to speak. She never got irate until she "somehow" fell onto the floor in the hallway.
Fontana seems like slime.

Yeah, she definitely never said that. What interview did you listen to?
Posted on 1/10/18 at 11:31 am to tgrbaitn08
Holy shite listening to this fricking video, how can you folks in La seriously believe this state is worth living in if you have children????
This dude sounds like a complete absolutionist borderline with fricking Stalin.

Because in my situation, my husband can't move for his job. He's a farmer -- a very well educated farmer but we can't move the farm lol. Could he get a job elsewhere? Yes and a good one but our parents who are getting up in age are here .. that's always a consideration.
Our youngest will be 17 in February. Last one in high school and all 3 have attended the Catholic school here for a variety of reasons.
"Just move" .. it sounds great, it really does but it isn't that easy.

In your case yall are on the back end of things. My remarks would probably be more suited for new parents and folks getting ready to send their child to school for the first time.
I get it though with a good majority of folks being unable to just uproot like that. However, it doesn't change my opinion on this matter. This is deplorable coming from a *leader.

Not being pro-Fontana or anti-Fontana here, but some people who post here may not be aware that he's the attorney who represented those who were molested in the pedophile priest scandal in the 1980's. specifically Father Gilbert Gauthier. Broke that story wide open and shined a light where it needed to shine.

Congrats, we can now debate if this PoS has a soul.

Did he do work pro-bono? Or did he get his cut? He's not a hero and is not the main attorney that broke that case open.
BUT-if he did his work and didn't get paid, then at least we know that he has a soul...

quote:On topic would have been whether he was worthy of a raise based upon his performance, NOT if a raise was deserved in comparison to what others in other positions are making. If you are busting your arse at work do you want any potential raise to be judged upon what others are making?
She was called on and was asking questions that directly applied to the topic.

Our boys are here .. one is an engineer in Lafayette (he was NOT opposed to going out of state, it just didn't work out) and the other is a junior at ULL. Our daughter wants to go out of state for school and I'm not discouraging her, despite her choice and despite my momma heart wanting her to stay here. Once she leaves, I doubt she'll come back. And I get it.

I did not know that G. Of course I wasn't here at that time.

Didn't say he was a hero. He played his roll.
Do you work for free? I don't (but sometimes do).
Is this the thread where we all claim to be OT ballers, but yet we all work for free in order to claim the moral high ground on everything?
I'm quite sure the defense attorneys for the Diocese got paid.

Go back and listen to the entire KPEL interview. She starts blaming the teacher towards the end of the interview.

He's so full of shite.....that is not even close to what happened..he needs to re watch the video
quote:
Fontana said the teacher arrested after Monday's meeting was not following the rules of board meeting procedure.
"If a teacher has the authority to send a student, who is acting up and she can't control, out of the classroom to the principal's office, under our policy we have the same rules," Fontana said. "We have certain rules: three minute speech, it has to be civilized, it can't get off target, it has to be related to the issue before the board. That's not what was happening last night.
"The marshal did his job. He went over there to settle it down. He couldn't settle it down. She's the one who made the choice to continue speaking," Fontana said. "He was taking her out. He wasn't arresting her. He was escorting her out, telling her don't come back tonight. It escalated out in the hall and she ended up getting arrested. "He did exactly what he was hired to do. He followed the procedures completely. She's the one who made the choices that got her arrested "

Vermilion Parish School Board offices locked down amid death threats after teacher handcuffed
LINK
The Vermilion Parish school board's offices were temporarily locked down amid death threats from across the world in response to widely viewed video of a teacher screaming while being handcuffed at a school board meeting.
Vermilion Parish School Board President Anthony Fontana tells The Advertiser the threats have come from as far away as South America, Australia and England, as well as other U.S. states. He said they've been reported to the FBI and local police.

Damn Fontana is doubling down on being stupid.
In that radio interview he said the teacher started talking over a board member, and wasn't supposed to be speaking at that point. She was clearly recognized both times to speak. Fontana made it sound like it wasn't a public comment period and she hadnt been recognized.
How stupid is this to say when the video of the whole damn thing is viral?
Then to compare the situation to a teacher sending a student to the principal is pretty damn degrading. So in this situation the board is the teacher, and the teacher is the child? I guess that makes Fontana the big bad principal.
I really wish Lebeouf would do an interview on one of these shows because she could bust this thing wide arse open.

There is other stuff that might happen that could make even more people, other than the Marshalls and VPSB look bad in the near future. Going to have to see how that plays out.
