Fontana has already set himself up as the bad guy in this little circus act.

Ah, so what you're saying is race plays a role in whether you have a work ethic and intelligence?

What were they supposed to do differently, OweO? Restrain the officer? Once you are being arrested you can’t reason your way out of it, right or wrong.

The person being arrested can't don't anything, it's not in their best interest, but people who are around should express their disapproval.. That the arrest is complete bullshite. So police should be able to arrest people, for whatever reason, whenever they want to?

IDK, it might not seem like that big of a deal, but I the fact that this woman went to a school board meeting, raised her hand to speak, was given the green light to speak and when the board didn't like what she was saying, it ended up in her being arrested. I would think people who are around would be a lot more vocal about it.

I hope some of you who live in Vermillion are drawing up papers for a recall petition on Fontana. What a moronic scumbag. Does he not understand that video of last night’s incident has gone around the world and that here is no evidence supporting his story that she deserved to be removed and arrresred? Much less all of the other issues at the root of this situation.

With that kind of judgment, he has no business wearing a badge or packing a weapon. If he's wearing a badge, he needs to be fired even though he was moonlighting

The officer definitely screwed up, but I still feel like the majority of blame for this debacle is on Fontana. I am far more disgusted with him.

The Marshall followed bad orders, and he and his family will suffer terribly because he complied. Anthony Fontana gets to just crawfish into an early retirement, enjoy a fat state pension and go fishing every fricking weekend.

I do have a home and manage a land company in the parish.

Unfortunately, I am not a voter in the parish.
It is a shame that what I heard this lady is good and passionate about her job in a town like Kaplan which is lower middle class town.

I been getting calls all day and I am sure other business people have been getting the same calls to try to put pressure on the politicians to make this right.

Scary?

That's the problem with local politics. The mindset that the elected officials are above the law.

When I worked for local government when I was in college (I worked there for just over 3 years). People would come in and would say shite about our parish president as if they thought he had control over everything. It's like "do these people realize that outside of this parish he means very little to anyone?".

The whole point I am driving home is that everyone complains about corrupt politics in Louisiana. Well it starts at the local level and as long as the people allow it, not will change.

This situation, caught on video, is an example of the problem people complain about, when it comes to the state of Louisiana's politics.

OweO, the people in the meeting were heard speaking out when she was being removed. Also, the ones recording and disagreeing with her arrest outside were threatened by the officer that they could be arrested.

It’s indefensible and disgusting. Y’all are right, officer should be fired- ignorant lackey or not.
