Unless the dolls look really, really underage, these cases are a bit fricky to prove.

Is it like a blanket ban on possession of something deemed illegal by lawmakers like drugs, certain fireworks, etc. regardless of why you have possession of it?

I don’t understand the crime. SCOTUS already ruled

The decision struck down two provisions of the law outlawing visual materials that “appear to be a minor” or “conveys the impression” that a minor was involved.

…did they verify the silicone was a minor?

Not really. Solidly support crimes against human being victims. Not sure about owning dolls.

My wife is incredibly adamant to not let our kid play online games, specifically Roblox.

So do you feel that owning something of that nature wouldn’t eventually lead to the real thing?

Same argument for people that want to ban guns.

To me it is a grey area every indication leads to this guy being a total sicko. But the issue is , is it is a doll. Where is that line drawn, is he being arrested for a possible future crime?

But, I do agree with going and checking him out and his computer. Strange times we live in

I'd think, just from a 'philosophical' standpoint, it's not consistent to criminalize fantasies. Video games allow for killing of citizens/noncriminals. Not sure what the laws are or of any other rulings by SCOTUS.

I'm sick of the behavioral and thought control while real criminals are roaming around. It may be dystopian but flag him and keep an eye him if you have to. He didn't do anything wrong to anyone. I'd rather some sick frick get his rocks off on plastic then a real person.

Maybe. But I'm sure that the counter argument is that it is actually beneficial because "using" a doll keeps him from acting out on human victims.

Is it right to criminalize one behavior because it might eventually lead to another? Seems like you could draw that link for just about anything.

I would disagree. One is universally accepted. The other is not.

I’m not sure there is really a counter argument to pedophilia or pedophilia tendencies. Just like needle exchanges are beneficial for junkies?

Someone should do a study on whether the availability of such dolls leads to an increase or decrease in actual child molestation.

It may turn out that the best way to save the children is to give away sex dolls to whoever wants one.

Im interested in the legal arguments for and against owning a child sex doll.

My first thought is that if someone has pedophilia, I would rather them use a doll than a human child, or is it supposed that it would be a slippery slope and eventually children would be targeted evwntually?

The counter argument is not about pedophilia … it’s about whether owning a sex doll is beneficial to prevent sex crime (or whether it promotes it)

Im not advocating handing out dolls like needles. It I guess the analogy is whether owning a syringe by itself should be illegal

How is that even prosecuted?

Sex with something that represents a child…?

Chances are if the dude has child like sex dolls, they’re going to find some type of unscrupulous shite on his computer though

All of this, is the doll being child like a crime? I have never heard of this. No doubt this dude is a sick fricker and for sure should be watched big time.
