Pay 50% of the costs yet no say in the child’s right to live. Hmm

They need to add some fraternal rights as well.

Gender reveal parties in UT are about to be insane.

Never been to Utah but I would imagine it has a large amount of people that should be breeding.

This is a horrible law, the legal systems is already too slanted towards the mother over the father. More laws is NOT the answer. Less laws, less welfare is the answer to everything.

Or
C) men will be pressuring women to get abortions or beating the shite out of them to abort the fetus themselves
It would probably be enough to just stop incentivizing women to have children. They are the ones that can easily prevent it by popping a pill every morning. And while we are at it maybe we can encourage people to get married before they have kids.
This policy is a classic liberal band aid that sounds good on the surface but ends up causing more pain and suffering.

There needs to be some stipulation here. If this law is supposed to minimize abortions there has to be a stipulation.

After marriage. Maybe this law will stop dead beat dads in Utah. One can only hope.

Can you go half on abortion if you chose?

I see nothing wrong with it. Solid rule

How many guys do you see lined up to do that? Most don’t even take care of or support the ones they have.
It only takes one and I’m pretty sure I’m capable of it. If I knock up a chick, I’ll own it, so if it happens to be you, you’re keeping it, and 9 months later we’ll never talk again nor will I allow you to talk with the child before the child turns 18.

The mother. This is why it should make men more careful.
That hasn't happened. As more (most) women (and men) have sex out of wedlock the rate of illegitimate children has skyrocketed.
It used to be social shaming directed at both parents made for shotgun weddings and fewer absentee fathers. Directing more shame only at the alleged father won't do much.
And poor people are more unlikely to be the out of wedlock parents. This will just be another law that costs more to enforce than it generates in social benefits. You can't get blood out of a turnip.

Biological fathers in Utah will be legally required to pay half of a woman’s out-of-pocket pregnancy costs
These women are on Medicaid thus no out of pocket expenses. Daddy pay same as mom zilch. Tax payers pay full ride.

Which half of the fetus do you want to keep?

I am cool with it as long as he has an equal say in treatment decisions otherwise he's just an ATM.
Also, by law he should have a say in whether the baby can be aborted.

I think this is the right thing to do, but I also think it’s right to have both the mother and the father’s consent to terminate a life if you’re going to allow for abortion. If the man is responsible for paying for a child to be brought into the world he should also pay for and have a say so in the taking of a human life as well.

A) will make men way more responsible regarding their seed spilling
Do biological fathers have to be notified and give their consent for an abortion? or is this still my body my choice?

B) will help women financially and lower rates of abortion
No it wont.

Yes. Unique law that makes men responsible for everything and alleviates women of any all responsibility for their actions. We don't have a lot of those.
What's the over/under on this tipping the "Her body, her choice" narrative?
