This was from the MSB thread about this topic: Awesomeness.
If anybody wants to cry laughing for five minutes at women playing soccer, that link is for you. It's hilarious.

If people got paid for how hard they work, housekeepers would be the millionaires.
But we don't get paid for how hard we work, we get paid for the value we create.

They are both under the US soccer federation. The women have generated equal or more revenue the last few years especially when the men did not even qualify. Women's soccer is pretty big in the USA. The men should surpass the women's revenue this year.
This is a contract issue not some stupid women's equity BS like Dem hoes be making it out to be.

You have to compare apples to apples. If you cherry pick which years to look at, yes, you can make that arguement and it's aided by the men missing the last world cup.
But when you take an entire world cup cycle for both teams, the men generate like 10x more revenue over those comparative 4 years.
But the men, by way of their union agreed to this so I don't feel bad for their dumbasses

2018 is the only WC USMNT failed to qualify for this decade.
2018 is the only World Cup final the USMNT failed to qualify for since 1986. They have qualified every four years from 1990 to 2018.

FIFA has announced that the entire bonus pool for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be $400 million, while the bonuses for the women's tournament in Australia in 2023 will be $60 million. In the previous World Cup cycle, the last-place men's team won more prize money than the first-place women's team.
The US men have qualified for Qatar. Still gonna be even?

If I was a USWNT player who isn't in the top 23 I would be pissed. This deal benefits the top players but screws over the ones who were benefiting under the old CBA. We will be right back to hearing them complain the first time a star gets pregnant and misses a paycheck for over a year.

After reading that fact sheet, it seems to blow the Women's US team pulling in more revenue rhetoric out of the water. If the Women's team actually drew more money in on a regular basis, then the agreement would be detrimental to them. Second the Women's team sure didn't want the same agreement as the men's team for a reason yet have no qualms about receiving money from the guys hitting their targeted goals.
So now the team that regularly generates the lion's share gets shafted in order to subsidize the women's team that can't beat a high school team.
Totally seems legit if this was Bizarre World.

Honestly it’s a fricking disgrace that we’re participating in this. At least 6,500 slaves have died constructing these stadiums and structures for the World Cup. The FIFA officials knew this was going to happen, so instead of the US hosting it which we could do safely next month, they decided it was worth a genocide to line their pockets to see men kick a ball down an open field.

not that the women deserve equal pay, they don’t. But i don’t feel for the men

I was just about to ask why everyone was hating on the women’s team when it is the men’s Union that willingly agreed to this. If anyone deserves ridicule over the agreement, it is the men’s Union.

Predicting it now: the USMNT will be paying for a majority of USWNT salaries, bonuses and such.
Each team should be held to paying players from a pool gathered from a percentage of ticket and broadcast sales (divvied up depending on contracts) with their bonuses coming from personalized merchandise sales.
Want more? Be worth more.

lot of people that don’t even watch soccer are going to be really upset over this.
You often talk/ make subtle hints about being wealthy, why don’t you live off the bare minimum and give away your undeserved gains to pocs and women?

It's soccer, so there's jokes to be made about them being spineless poonans, but I wonder how much unwarranted societal pressure had to do with them agreeing.
I don't know of many people who, when it comes down to it, are ok taking money out of their own pockets. Maybe they are, I really have no idea, but it's hard to believe

This is stupid.
We are Americans, we should pay based on results.
So the Women's team should be paid well and the Men's team, well, they deserve minimum wage for their minimum results.

We also don’t see the numbers and the exact language of the contracts, so there may be some virtue signaling going on with the press release with the details of the actual contracts in real world scenarios telling a different story. Time will tell.

So did the women get raises or did the men take paycuts?
This is the classic "Ohh shite" moment like when Google wanted to make equal pay to women and did a full study on the pay gap and realized, the women there in the same position as men, got paid more.
