You can’t just skip 5 when detonating 40k bombs in the ocean to cause earthquakes.
Five sounds like nine. They skip five to avoid confusion so people aren't expecting the boom in eight more seconds, but get it in four. Also, five sounds like fire and may cause premature detonation if the wrong person hears it.
I use the same technique with the wimmens.

That’s the first thing that came to my mind. Given how sound travels in the ocean the sound of it alone is bound to have caused some damage to marine life.
