Pretty sure that was the CDC who refused their tests

Uhhh... you do know how the CDC is aligned with the Trump Admin I hope. Or do you? Maybe you think it's an independent org.

You may want to figure out which leg to stand on because the CDC and FEMA are working hand in hand on the best strategy to open the country back up.

Look y'all, CNN and MSNBC sent out their programming message that this is bad.

You can try to explain the logic behind the decision to cut the funding till you're blue in the face but it won't matter because you can't overwrite the program.

Generally threatening to defund things is a good threat and usually results in leadership change.

The CDC refused the tests because they didn’t trust them not to give false postives. They thought they could make better tests. So you want Trump to override experts at the CDC because he thinks he knows better than them? People like you are always complaining about Trump thinking he knows more than actual experts.

The WHO is financed by contributions from member states and outside donors. As of 2012, the largest annual assessed contributions from member states came from the United States ($110 million), Japan ($58 million), Germany ($37 million), United Kingdom ($31 million) and France ($31 million).

According to The Associated Press, the WHO routinely spends about $200 million a year on travel expenses, more than it spends to tackle mental health problems, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria combined. In 2016, Margaret Chan, Director-General of WHO from November 2006 to June 2017, stayed in a $1000-per-night hotel room while visiting West Africa.

On 21 October 2017, the Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus appointed former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe as a WHO Goodwill Ambassador to help promote the fight against non-communicable diseases. The appointment address praised Mugabe for his commitment to public health in Zimbabwe.

Trump is making the right move with this.

Then why were you bitching about it?

Yeah..

I agree. I've admitted that he's doing the right thing and I said the WHO is horribly corrupt.

We're good.

I was yelling the exact thing he's doing. Just got bent out of shape with some of the comments.

All good

so your solution is to have Trump, a man you don't like, to overrule the CDC's independent decisionmaking?

Good, and make it permanent. The WHO should be disbanded in the way the League of Nations was during WWII. They are nothing but a Chinese mouthpiece. The only way I’d be comfortable with them existing is if they renamed themselves the CCPHO.

it wasn't the policy at first, it was the extreme left or the extreme right thing that got me fired up.

We're cool.

We were saying the same thing.

It delayed testing, our new tests equally if not more suck and you GD right, that decision was idiotic. And on the subject of subject matter experts, I get really tired of Trump thinking he is one. Mr. April himself. Everyone should be pretty tired of seeing him change his tune daily about shite he knows zero about in the first place. I swear he governs by reading Meme Wars threads.

Ok so you agree Trump wasn’t at fault there?

Yes. I would. Their decision was a horrendous one and yes, if He could have overruled them that would have been awesome.

But he didn't. And he stuck to his 15 cases that will evaporate stance. While other countries did the logical thing which is to just test the shite out of this thing from minute one and if there are false negatives, so be it. Our tests now aren't any better and never will be. Lesson learned?

The irony also not really the best time to do it, but I'm sure his voters will love it

I have very little knowledge and no opinion on the WHO. But there is a group on here that seems to be kind of brainwashed and operating in some kind of hive mind mentality that I kind of instinctively look at the stuff they post skeptically. This being the latest example.
