Some of you didn't pay attention in social studies. All highly developed economies have low birth rates.
Immigrants from developing economies always have higher birthrates until they assimilate.

That is not the big reason as to why 20 year olds are not having kids.
Let’s not delude ourselves.
I’m a big proponent of the idea that those in their 20s are not being paid enough, but I know that isn’t a big reason.
It is “career” and “have fun”.

Have 4 kids, just had my fourth earlier this year. I'm 40.
My newest son is the chunkiest healthiest and smartest one of all at the same age.
No regrets, kids are awesome. Birth rates are declining (im sure robotics/automation will nuke it even farther) but its not my fault.

My daughter just turned 29 and had her second child. Without us and her in-laws, I’m not sure how they could afford it. Childcare is astronomical. Not sure how anyone does it without some support structure like family, church, etc.
