#1 Diet and sedentary lifestyle
#2 Career driven women who aren’t ready to put one in the oven until after 30-35
#3 build on #2 with women’s eggs drastically reducing after 30
..and murdering innocent babies

Might seem bad, but anecdotally, in my daily life I’ve seen almost nobody who seems like they should be having more kids than they have.

It’s really the age of the man rather than the woman that causes those things. Women lose fertility at an age before it can really become problematic to have kids. Men don’t.

Only recently did we go past the birthrate lows prior to the boomer generation post ww2.
Economic factors have the strongest correlation with birth rates.
However every society as it becomes educated had continuous declining birth rates. There is no logical reason to continue to have that many kids. Which plays out in every society regardless of birth control and women working.

Interesting to not mention the astronomical growth of cost of living for the average couple in the variables.
Hospital care (particularly after birth), childcare, rent, mortgage rates (but less affordable single-family housing) have all increased a lot in just the last decade.
