Costco just needs to install gates that you have to scan your costco card to get in and out. They won't though.
Someone mentioned earlier the possible liability Costco might have in these incidents, and I wonder why the gas pumps don't require some access point. I know the pumps require a card, but with no access point check (entrance and exit) and no security detail after numerous carjackings/vehicle thefts, I would imagine they could have an issue.

Which gas station in the east?
I dunno. Probably one that clearly looked unsafe. He's not the brightest bulb in the pack though.

Evidently it is Costco’s corporate policy to not allow any armed guards or police on their premises. Not sure how true that is but it’s asinine if true.
Do not forget that Costco gave significantly to the Democrats and openly endorsed the 44th president of the United States in his elections.

I always turn my vehicle off at the pump. I do it not because I'm concerned with blowing the joint up, but because I always lock my doors when at the pump. Pull up, turn off the ignition, pop the gas tank cover, lock doors with the beep for the alarm, and then pump gas.
It’s a motherfricking shame that you have to do all this to feel secure enough to pump gas for 4-5 minutes
And I’m not going after you, I’m disgusted with the way criminals have been allowed to take over and have ZERO fear of repercussions from their actions

A lot of people from surrounding parishes shop at that Costco. Many of the will become fed up and stay in their own Parishes to shop. When that happens tax revenue will fall. When tax revenue falls, then you will have Teedy’s full attention.

Legitimately, Nola is a punch line as far as cities go around the country. Anytime New Orleans is in the news around where I live, it's because of some honk honk bullshite or continually rising crime that somehow continues to outdo itself. The history and atmosphere cannot possibly be worth continuing to subject yourself to this shithole. Don't understand how locals do it

This line of thinking is horrible. Blame the private sector company and sue them for what failed policy from the city/parish elected officials and their law enforcement created.
This isn’t my “line of thinking”. It is the reality. Plaintiff lawyers are actively advertising for inadequate security cases in New Orleans. Crime ridden apartment complexes and retailer in bad neighborhoods where people are robbed are killed are getting sued for not protecting patrons. It is ridiculous and the cost of doing business in NOLA, but it is the reality.

The S&WB and Dept of Public Works have instituted their new carjacking recovery plan and it looks like it works perfectly. This is a stolen car that was recovered last night.

The cones won't deter them from committing the crime, but it will make it a little more difficult to sneak up next to the car so they can jump out of their car and in to your car. Once they have your car, they have no problem running over cones, pedestrians, bumping other cars...to get away.
Clearly I meant the first half, and seems you agree.
To the added second portion, I agree too

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Costco shut down the gas station if this keeps up.
Would be shocked honestly.
Add an extra employee possibly and some physical barricade to stop the ability to sneak between cars and it will stop again. It worked last time they saw incidents

I have tickets to see Nate Bargatze Friday night at 9:30 pm. Was just talking to my husband about whether or not he can conceal carry in the venue just to have a gun for the walk to the theatre. Actually kind of scared to go - but that might just be my mom anxiety because our oldest kid will be with us.
Think you’ll be fine. You and hundreds of other people are coming and going at the same time, parking garage is right next to Orpheum, security is there. Go have fun

She is already on record saying if you don't like the crime then you should leave.

Went to Costco for gas today, the cones are back out blocking the lane between cars fueling.
