I’ve said it before but the clock is ticking (and apparently fast) on getting top value if you are a property owner in NOLA. Look no further than Detroit for the 50-80% haircuts in values when the ferals took over. No end in sight with DA Williams next Mayor.
You can’t beat the ferals at the ballot box in Orleans, but when enough hosts bail the parasites are left to stew in the mess they created and cry racism on why it failed.

Might be time for Costco to consider armed security at those gas pumps. Sounds like a failure to provide adequate security, when multiple events have taken place. They’re likely getting sued on a few of these.

This line of thinking is horrible. Blame the private sector company and sue them for what failed policy from the city/parish elected officials and their law enforcement created.

Doubt they could be held liable. Nothing remarkable about their setup that invites criminals.

You’d be wrong…..you’d be shocked at how often these types of suit yield

Bull shite. The company can’t just turn a blind eye if criminals are using their property to prey on victims. They owe a duty to keep business invitees reasonably safe under the circumstances . Just like a business can’t ignore if their roof is in disrepair and collapses on a patron in the store. Has to be maintained in a reasonably safe condition.

With all these types of crimes going on along with the smash and grabs some cities might become retail-less communities.
I’m sure then it will be because of racism and not rampant crime that police chiefs and mayors do nothing about.

Don’t worry folks, after the police catch the scholar, Jason Williams will have him back on the street in a flash.

Look no further than BR and the “food deserts”. Local politicians refuse to acknowledge the lack of grocery stores in predominantly black areas is caused by unbearable theft and shop lifting making it impossible for a business to succeed. Instead they try to make it a race issue or ignore it completely.

You’re right. Tell em, brother. Where were these ladies’ bodyguards?

Ban Costco, or riot and demand they hire gas station securtity?

There isn't a democratic voter in the country that doesn't support this.

Let’s just be honest with ourselves here. Let’s try and imagine this area in say 10-20 years from now, and tell me what you come up with, because the life I imagine isn’t one I find very enjoyable. I mean, considering the fact that absolutely NOTHING is being done, the criminal element is only getting worse, and people evacuating to other parts of the country or state at least, what’s to make anyone have hope in this area to keep roots planted here?

20, well 25, years ago New Orleans managed 200 carjackings in 6 months.
Not excusing any of what is going on, just highlighting that 10-20 years can offer a lot of change, or none at all.

Why did they put the Costco in such a shitty neighborhood?

Land available. It is a horrible location to access.

I was reading one of the New Orleans real estate agent groups on Facebook for the first time tonight and they are all reporting that all of their clients are fleeing Orleans Parish right now. Can you blame them?

Well, I was a full grown adult 25 years ago, and I can assure you that it was a lot more livable a place to live life than it is at present. Same goes for the Big Nasty to it’s west. The trend is way downward, and the lack of hope comes from simply nobody wanting to do a thing to stop it’s downward trend, as if they ignore it and it will just go away.
It ain’t going away. It will haunt future generations because of our own apathy today. That’s what’s going to happen.
